Best President in the History of Our Country

Most of us Americans fall prey to political rhetoric, never conducting our own research which would allow us to come to our own conclusions. As a military person for over 20 years, the facts still remain the facts, devoid of manipulative banter.

Obama is by far the best president we've ever had;

- Inherited an economy on the brink of collapse. Took bold steps to prop it back up and prevent a disaster worse than the 1929 nightmare. Some accused him of saving the banks (which the 401Ks of millions of Americans depended on), but he saved the future of millions of Americans. Some accused him of bailing out the auto industry, but they paid back every penny, with interest!

- In spite of that economic disaster, has succeeded in stopping the slide of unemployment. While many are still under employed, takes time to reverse the devastating impact of our near economic collapse. Our unemployment rate is much lower than it was under Reagan. Do your homework.

- Some talk about rebuilding our military. BS! We have the strongest, best equipped military in the world. Pulling our fighting men and women out of Iraq/Afghanistan will not undo the wasted misstep of Bush but it will prevent more of our men and women from giving their lives/being maimed for no reason at all. Care to send YOUR son or daughter over there? No politician wants to admit it, but we will NEVER fix the middle east. They must fix themselves. They have had warring warlords/factions fighting each other for 1,000 of years. That will never end.

- No president will have a major impact on our military strategy. They will all have the same generals to give them advice. No president, except Bush would try to formulate his/her own. No more than any president would change their own oil in their car. We are fighting and beating ISIS in the only we can, exactly as our generals are recommending.

- Terrorism: Let's get serious. We all grieve at the loss of our fellow Americans in Orlando and Bakersfield, and ally civilians in Europe. But there is no strength of will or change in policy that could have prevented this. Any idiot can get a gun and kill whoever they wish. America is NOT less safe. Our intel experts thwart terrorists plots daily and you will never hear about most of them. There are over 300 million people in this country. You have a better chance of getting struck by lightning, twice than being the victim of terrorism. Yet, no politician could tell you as much and still receive the support of his/her party.

- Reasonable gun control without abating our second amendment rights and a host of many other issues rest on the donations of mega lobbyists and we will never be able to do anything about those until our politicians see no benefit to supporting them.

Yes, Obama is the best president we have ever had and our country faces many challenges. But we are still the absolute best, most stable country in the world. Read an article the other day about Bangladesh and how 70% of their population is forced to defecate in the woods. Now that is truly a problem. Our problems pale in comparison to the problems of too many other countries. We rarely appreciate how fortunate we are
