...He was thinking of picking someone else.  Trump has always gone with his rather ample gut and wasn't sure about Pence who was foisted on him by his advisers.  But in the end, he relented and picked Pence.  Maybe it wasn't such a hot choice after all:

I agree the choice was "foisted on him by his advisors" who most likely told him pick Pence or Newt OR be prepared for a convention floor fight that you may not win.

It does prove that Trump is a pragmatist, and not an ideologue who would rather lose the race before it even begins rather than  compromise.

To hear some of you tell it. They would have bet that Trump would have quit the race rather than compromise. People have been wrong about Trump time after time after time in this race.

That said, the pick still sucks and could end up assuring him the nomination, but costing him the race.

Pence signed a law making Indiana one of only two states that forces women, with the threat of imprisonment, to carry to full term a fetus with abnormalities.  That's why brooks5 is so vehemently against abortion - the Indiana law Pence signed will assure many more like Brooks will be born and he won't be so alone

Cheney was co-POTUS ( some say POTUS ) to help the functioning of an ignorant President.

  If you prefer you can team up with your other  Shmendrik  BFF, Jake,  and see how well you two can do as a Tag team against a ninth grade drop out. :-D  
  I'm sure  BP won't get in on the action and have a thee way with you two, he's the most gutless guy on the board.
