I'll say that, well, I appreciate wardrobe requests bc then my wonderful clients get to imagine/daydream about me in the attire before our session!
...plus, I love a man with some passion behind his inquiry to meet... Passion comes in many forms 
Then again, my tastes are rather vanilla. Jeans, shorts, sun dresses, teddies... TER ladies seem to wear almost anything I ask, except "nothing but a smile" (as she hides behind the door)... Those wicked women always wear some sort of pesky, hard-to-remove bathrobes too.
Seriously though, so long as your request isn't the "Only wear black flats as I despise navy blue shoes when a woman wears an off-white thins strapped sundress...." or some other "Straight eye for the Gay guy" nonsense, you should have no issues getting compliance from the ladies here.
Better still, get her measurements and bring her prezzies for her to model for you!

Everyone of you gentleman like something different and even a general idea from you of what you like is very helpful. Pleasing is my thing, and I like to include wardrobe in my efforts so it's helpful to know what you like!

I enjoy seeing a girl dressed well... whether it's a nice dress, professional business attire or even a pair of jeans (best for booty shot). After the door closes, it's whatever goes.
I have found that most Indies welcome dress requests. Well, exclude the BP level indie on that.
One they want repeat clients, that helps them on many fronts.
Some agency girls would do that, but it a challenge for the request to get through to them. Plus they are limited to what they have with them at the time.

So here's a new twist. There are some fellas out there who have fetishes for certain wardrobes. Leather, Latex, boots, gloves, etc.
I think the general consensus is most ladies are in the business of trying to please, but what about those extra kinky requests?
I consider requests for fetish clothing such as leather and latex to be part of a fetish booking so I will cater to those as well.

Is it a bother for her? Well... depending on the craziness of the request (lol) it could be, but I think usually not. Is it micomanaging on my part to request a particular wardrobe? I don't think any more so than ordering your favorite meal at a restaurant you frequent is micromanaging. You're paying for a special treat, why not get what you want? After all - it is our fantasy, right gents?
That said, I like a woman in just a silk robe or jeans and tank top - I favor the girl next door look these days. So I suppose in the big scheme of things that's not pushing the haute couture (or haute kink-ture) envelope. But there was a time in my hobby career when I was really into a woman with stockings, heels, garters, corset - you name it. But this hobby is all about getting whatever you want. Or it should be.
And as the astute ladies have already pointed out, it should be nice for them knowing they are dressing to please the client's exact tastes. Which I would say it's win-win for them. As long as the gent doesn't request her to be in full Little Bo Peep regalia for their date.

Wardrobe request are lots of fun for me. I love creating the fantasy. For me wardrobe request help personalize the session.
With a day or two notice I think it would be fine, but a last minute request dosent seem doable. If a guy is 10 min away and says oh yea I like you in a spacesuit, pretty hard to put together. I say just give the ladies enough notice to accommodate

lingerie, I definitely don't mind outfit request. If by chance I don't have what the gentleman seeks, I'll go buy it

In the states requests have never come to pass. When I was in London, or other countries, yes. I think a block for this is the difficulty in direct language. Also, to be fair, what some providors have available.
I never want to put the lady to be incovienenced. so I admit that I do not push it.
