Reston National is only 15-20 minutes drive.  Good for a public course.

Pleasant Valley is also a public course, a little more expensive but they put the extra money into maintenance so it's generally in better shape than other public courses around.  About a half hour's drive from Tyson's Corner Center.

me and a fellow monger are going to play a little golf over Northern Virginia and then going to  see a couple of nice ladies in northern virginia and then we're going  and have a few beers we have got the ladys set up the problem is we need some good recommendations on golf courses over Northern Virginia .

...might want to check out the East Potomac course at Hains Point.

It's a public course (pretty cheap, too) and easy 10 minutes drive to Pentagon City and Rosslyn
