Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I'll be driving into DC this evening and have a last minute date with a long time friend.
W/we have shared many wonderful meals in NYC at high end restaurants and hedonist foodie haunts. Any recommendations for a place in DC where W/we could get seated this evening without a reservation.
If you could hit one great restaurant, which one would it be?

I would concur with everything above but I would also add Fiola Mare in Georgetown. I had a wonderful lunch there a few months back.

Any of Jose Andreas places - he has a good Greek place in Penn Quarter too
I find it to be much more innovative and interesting than The Diplomat or pretty much any other food I've had in DC. It hasn't been open a year yet but they are killin' it!
