Be careful.

I had stumbled upon one of those photo look up sites and of course I looked myself up and what I found made my jaw drop!
Yes I have reviews and they're great, all my stats are mostly correct BUT the only picture someone has uploaded of me is DEFINATELY not me. It's not even the right gender!! :/
With hopes of correcting this I registered with them and then tried to "claim" my profile. They then promted me to pay to be a VIP which I did. But I still couldn't claim it because they registrared me as a hobbyist and not a provider. Ive contacted the site and explained the issue to them and hopefully I'll hear back and it will be resolved but I was wondering..,
How many people really use these sites to verify photos and how many see the wrong photo for me and get the wrong idea?

I am new at this so I didn't know sites such as that existed. I use TER to verify and/or google the phone number. Any other advice?

I've never used those photo lookup sites, Becka.  I rely on P411 and TER, and frankly, looks aren't the main thing for me anyway, it's the quality I look at.

I am lost at what a look up site is.. There is no dearth of websites/companies that want your money. I hope you didn't pay into some scam.

If this is legit I hope some provider sheds some light on this.

I'm not familiar with lookup sites either.  I am familiar with photo lookup sites, but that doesn't appear to be what you're referring to.

I use Google Image Search, it's free and the best out there

Me, too.  If anyone wants to try it out, here's how to do it:

1. www.google.com (obviously!)
2. Click on "images"
3. Look in the search window and you'll see the little camera icon on the right side.  Click on it.
4. Right-click on the image you want to search for and click on the option that says something like:  "copy image location."  It depends upon the browser you're using.
5. Paste the image url into the "search by url" window.
6. You will come up with one or more websites that contain the image.

Try this on an image from a Backpage AMP ad, which everyone knows are fake.  You will get dozens of hits and you will know how a fake picture comes up.

Be careful.

I use tineye for image searching.
