What was the glass of wine? 5 bucks? 6 bucks?

What I would do next time is tear the $100 in 20 equal pieces and leave one piece as a tip.

Works like a charm every time I do it.. :D

Today, I had a midday appointment with a local provider who I have seen over a dozen times. I get the confirmation e-mail with the hotel and even the room# in the morning. No problem, or so I thought. Just as I drop my car with the valet parking attendant, I get a text asking if I could push the appt back half an hour. With time being already tight, I was starting to have second thoughts. I texted back telling her NEVERMIND and that I was not going to be able push the appt start time back without it affecting my plans for the day. She insisted that I stay and we could squeeze in a 30-min appt for half price. I accepted the offer and stuck around.

Usually, I would wait in my car for the green light but since the Valet parking guy parked it, that was not an option. So I take a seat in the sofa in front of the front desk. What a mistake, within a couple minutes, 4 different employees came up to me asking if they can help me. I went to the lounge and ordered a glass of chardonnay. By this time my appointment time was fast approaching. I get the text to go on up to the room. No bartender in sight to pay the bill. Finally, he appears after about 15 minutes pushing a cart full of bottles.

I finally make it to the appointment. I got a full 10 minutes with her, no intimacy just kissing and roaming hands. I still paid the 1/2 (although she even mentioned not to worry about it) rate but day was ruined. Rant Over.

BTW she told me that the reason for the delay was because engineering was fixing the air conditioner in her room and the hotel was completely booked so they could not switch rooms

Not like you got ripped off by her, and she took your money and ran away.

Not sure what you are warning us about.. Shit happens.. Sometimes no matter how much you plan and take precautions..

No warning not blaming anybody,  It was just a rant. I needed to vent and the girl was cool about it. I was so looking forward to the appointment since last week.

But right now with 3.5 games ahead of the Braves, I am very jovial. :D

At this point--I'd be absolutely STUNNED if the Nats don't take the NL East division flag---bet they win it by at LEAST 5 games!! The Braves right now are a mess---Miami never really recovered from losing Fernandez--the Phillies are old and decrepit and the Mets are...welll...the Mets!!

but you are both right. The Braves IF they make it to the postseason at all, will be going the wildcard route. They needed help virtually everywhere, and the little bit they did at the trade deadline was much too little too late.

but the correct statement when a team is the odds odd favorite to win something is that it's their title "to lose" ask that pedantic putz Conan if you don't believe me.

I wanted to but I only had $100 bills. I was not going to leave a $91 tip in a glass of wine.

A while back I booked with a favorite on a cold winter day and when I arrived her screener said her apt had lost heat and it was chilly, but I could either go ahead or cancel at no charge.  I decided to chance it -- she was a lovely woman and I liked her a lot, but this day she was dressed in warm jeans and thick sweatshirt and had cancelled her other appointments and at this point I felt I couldn't back out.  We managed (under the blanket), but it was cold...I was packing up when the apt mechanics showed up and she asked me to stay while they fixed the heating.  She had a quite nice apt with a separate sitting area with a TV and we stayed nestled up with her little dog in our laps for at least 2 hours, all OTC.  She made me coffee, smoothies, and we talked, watched TV and nestled.  It ended up being one of the most enjoyable appointments I've had.  Please pardon the fond reminiscence. Sometimes things turn out better than expected...
