No other politician calls for the US to withdraw our armed forces in many foreign countries like Trump. I agree with him on that topic at least!

It is clear how we got here historically. After WW1 we disarmed, because we cold, protected by two oceans. And were caught behind the 8 ball by WW2, but after it ended we largely disarmed, and barely were able to hold the line against the communists in Korea. After Korea we built up a permanent standing military to win the Cold War, although the man who started the build up warned us about the military industrial complex. Then we won the Cold War and well... that's where it becomes unclear... sort of a habit? And vested interests, lots of vested interests. And now we have permanent garrisons every damn place. We Invade the World and Invite the World. We try to prevent Muslim terrorists from killing us here by bombing them there... even though it would be a whole lot easier just to watch over the one's here and let fewer in. And the Libs, somehow after Vietnam, are now full tilt on board for the US as Global Policeman, something about enforcing the Transsexual and Gay agenda against Putin, or something, hard to tell.
It is odd that Trump, an admittedly odd character, is the only one raising the common sense points like our absurd immigration policy and absurd military politcy.
