Great Post Question..!

This question comes up a lot and I would suggest you think about spending time in 2 or 3 venues. Getting around can be a pain. Now METRO (our subway) can be a help and a venue within walking distance of a METRO stop a plus for sure.

I would suggest you think about three venues...In DC near DuPont Circle or Foggy Bottom. ...Both near METRO and lots of hotel options.

In Virginia two venues...Tyson's Corner and Crystal City..Both have METRO which can be a bonus. You have to appreciate driving around here pretty much sucks unless its between oh after 10PM and before 5AM. So, any venue near a METRO stop will be a help. All these locations do have a number of hotels with varying price ranges which must be checked as the rates can change on a whim it seems.

Hope this is of some help..Good luck to you!

This is mostly for the gentlemen here.
I'm trying to see what in your opinion is the most convenient areas when you would like to see a lady. I know parking, traffic and metro can be a pain so please lets hear some suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Thank you, those are some ones I was thinking also. I'm wondering if off the beaten path works well for some people also? Less  traffic, no pain in the butt parking. You know a nice pit stop in a very nice area on the way home from work?
Come on everyone I know there's a lot of opinions out there.

That sounds like a challenge.  I have next-to-no first hand experience, so by all means take this with a large grain of salt.  But I do love a challenge.

Two neighborhoods come to mind, in part because they fit the criteria of (1) off the "beaten path" and (2) on the way home for many after a hard day's work.  Mainly, they might be interesting if only because they've not been mentioned already.

First; Shirlington.  It seems a fairly nice stopping point mid-way between DC and the hinterlands beyond the beltway.  It has a cozy vibe.

Next; Clarendon.  This, in my opinion, is the most vibrant and yet charming neighborhood in the metro area.  (Queue the masses ready to dispute that claim.  I will be far from the first time I've been mistaken.). It too sits alongside a major commuter route and still is fairly close to the city.  Parking may present a slight challenge.  But, does anyone really ever say, "gosh, there is an incredibly beautiful, sensual lady waiting just for me--but the parking would be too hard."

I thought there were potentially scares there. I only repeat with known ladies there now. But it is convenient, though a little congested lately. Parking's never an issue though.

...Followed by traffic. I generally don't mind going to DC, though I sometimes run into traffic issues on 66E which can be unpredictable on weekends (often my schedule doesn't accommodate midweek fun). I like the Dupont area, and for NoVA I like Crystal City. Easy to get to and parking is convenient, but maybe a boring area for the ladies to stay.

You would think I would find it boring but I do a lot of writing and reading in my other career and brought a bunch of books with me so I can catch up on work in my downtime.

Also, the jogging around here is great!  Drivers actually don't try to run you over like they do in the district.  I went for a jog this morning and got a number of honks, but all followed with "will you marry me" or "looking good!"  I took that as a good sign.

So it can be good, depending on what ladies are looking for.  The gentlemen have been happy with it as well thus far.  Parking is a snap!

And, although I like to take Metro in DC, I prefer not for "hobbying". I hate to get sweaty before a date, especially in hot weather. Besides, I wouldn't went to get arrested by Metro police when I, as I do while driving, massage my crotch to improve circulation for the date.

So, Tysons is my favorite --  easy access from I-495 and plenty of parking. (Unfortunately, now the the Silver Line is open, hotels will charge for it.) I don't like Crystal City; it's more difficult to get around. For some reason I tend to get lost around there. Only if I wanted to see a lady bad enough would I go to DC.

The hell with Tysons and Dupont. No one wants to travel into town or be in Tysons unless they are already stuck there for work. No one is going to metro around to visit a provider either because its a pain in the ass. I have lived here 40 plus years and the easiest places to visit providers are Springfield, Alexandria, Dulles, Herndon, Reston, Fairfax, Woodbridge. Some of these do also have Metro access. I hate that so many good providers are packed into Tysons and Dupont, wish they would spread out or tour around the area a little. I believe a provider could do much better than sitting at one spot with 200 other providers all around them. JMO!

Since I am ill-advised to hobby in MoCo, Tyson's is BY FAR my favorite place to hobby in this area (and for me, the closest!). I go in between rush hours and it is super-convenient to get in and out of with tons of quality upscale hotels and parking. Why would I want to go as far out of the way as Dulles/Reston/Herndon and have to pay the toll road to boot! Plus getting back on to 495 from the toll rd can often be a nightmare... No thank you!

It's fine to share your opinion, but don't act like "everyone" else shares your point of view, cuz I sure don't.

You probably in live NoVa. For those who come from MD or DC, easy access from I-495, such as Tysons, is preferred.

I used to work in Reston, Herndon and Dulles. Driving at rush hour is a nightmare.

At least for me. I work downtown so ladies that are downtown or around DuPont get my preference for after work dates. Virginia has a lot more parking options but traffic is brutal.

I like to meet near Tysons Corner.  Lots of parking and several great restaurants for dinner/dates.
I avoid DC due to the parking

For metro access, Crystal City, Pentagon City, and Alexandria are all good in Virginia.

I have had no problems with parking at Tyson's or Springfield.

Further south, Fredericksburg, is a small town with a few decent hotels, good parking and gasoline prices 30-50 cents cheaper per gallon than Fairfax county. I also have great memories of a dinner date there with my favorite provider

I knew I would get "some" mixed answers but wow. I guess I really would like to know if most of you men don't mind paying for parking. I know they get a nice chunk in DC but if its a lady you would like to see and an upscale accommodation she's providing then its par for the course or is it dipping in you weekly play fund?
Question #2> All of the answers are great so far but also does it matter when its the weekend?

Thanks again everybody that's contributing to my post!

I don't hobby on the weekends in general so I can't really speak to that.

As for paying for parking... hobbying is expensive enough, so my preference would be to NOT have to pay for parking. That doesn't mean I wouldn't potentially do it if I wanted to see the lady bad enough... but it's not my preference.

Avoid Maryland because of Montgomery Police...just saying.

"Higher end" providers end up in Tysons, Crystal City, and DC.

Many are in Springfield, but to be honest I always double check providers in Springfield - different crowd.  I've only seen two providers in Springfield, both are well known.  I also prefer nicer hotels if I'm doing in-call.  Other mongers don't care as much.  Research which providers advertise services where and you'll see what I mean.

Sent you a PM, but there are some easy access hotels in Tysons, I would avoid being in the "heart" of Tysons, that can be a nightmare.

Crystal City, I think providers are discovering how great Crystal City can be for themselves - like you.  You don't need a car, lots of great places to eat and shop while you're in Crystal City.  No need to order room service and live like a hermit in your room.  I think Crystal City is great from a mongering perspective because so many visit for conferences or congressional fly-ins, that a single guy walking around does not look strange.  Also, in the bigger hotels there are so many people wandering around, you won't even get a second look, even if you're 'lost' and ask directions.  Hotels in Crystal City are TRULY within walking distance.  Remember, some of mongers are old dudes - and what may be a five minute walk to a guy in his 20s in Tysons is a pain in the ass for those in their late 40s, 50s, and early 60s.

There are many ladies in Tyson's because it is a hot spot , for providers.  Most of the cities of the beltway are great as well. Areas heading west of the toll road are great too. NoVa is a good place to be a provider so wherever you stay, you will be fine.

That ought to be on a bumper sticker; an outstanding philosophy for life.

Grab a car rental (Zipcar etc.) and Springfield/Tyson's seems to be a good grab for the price.

I understand that a lot of folks use metro to commute so there is a value of being nearby -

so that is certainly not a wrong decision....

but for me,  I only go where I can easily and conveniently park and feel safe about my vehicle.....

I don't like to use valet parking at hotels either....

As long as one or the other is easy, I'm good.  If I drive to work, I can either metro or drive to the session.  If I metro in, I can usually metro to a session anywhere in DC (might need to walk a little, but never been a problem).  The key is that the hotel allows guest (visitor) parking.  I've ran into that issue.  If the girl can let us know the parking situation ahead of time, that is bonus, then we can taxi or uber in (if parking is limited) if not using metro.  Also check to see if a key is required for elevator access, that can be annoying or awkward for both if the girl has to come and meet you in the elevator or lobby.

Excellent advice, you have benn around the block once or twice..." literally "
I agree with those pain in the azz elevator access hotels, usually a nice hotel but prefer anyone be able to use the elevator. I'm starting to find my way around, I guess I'll have to tour here more than twice a year.
Till next time
