These are only two stings using CL that have occurred in the past month (google online prostitution sting the results will curl your toes).
When officials in Kingston, NH are amazed at how cheap and easy it is to do a sting, you know this (CL, not NH) is not a safe place to play. Their false ad had 35 hits in two weeks, and yielded 6 arrests.

Why is it they always cite child porn and drugs as the next step? I realize it justifies their position and makes the civvies feel better, but please! I am so sick of this false correlation.

If anything, my experience in the hobby leads me to older, established providers. The thought of seeing a pre-teen sickens me, and anyone who wants this deserves to be strung up!!!

But given that it is the pious politicians who always make these claims, and somehow always seem to be caught, it is not surprising.

Anybody in their right mind would be a fool not to agree to punishing child molesters, those involved in child porn, etc. Again, it's the misconception that is out there (thank you media). Maybe years ago prostitution was connected to organized crime; hence the attachment to drugs. Remember, alcohol was outlawed in the 20's during prohibition. A lot of folks take a drink now. Maybe 70 years from now, the USA will be like Amsterdam and some other European cities.

We're dealing with people here who are dumb enough to believe that working speed traps actually increases safety. LE is way too caught up in being the big-shots of society that they can't see that they're actually nothing more than pawns in the governments never-ending quest for total domination of the public.

Everytime someone in LE says that a minor offense can lead to larger offenses, notice that the reporter never challenges them to provide stats, nor do such reporters provide them in the article.
What if I argued that cops should arrest every Catholic priest they saw since priesthood can lead to child molestation? I'll bet I'd get challenged on that.

Just in case anyone has missed the point of this, ANYONE can post ANYTHING on CL. If all you have is a picture, a name and a phone number, you are playing Russian Roullette!
I recently enlisted the help of the members of the Chicago board to flag a fake posting. Someone had stolen my photos and had used them for their own ad on CL.
Was this LE as part of the Chicago sting? Who knows. If not, it was definitely bait and switch as it was not me.
At least with TER, you can check reviews. You can see if the person is the one whose photos are posted. Otherwise the reviews with reflect that it was bait and switch. You can also see if it is a "rip off." Provider takes your money and flees.
Needless to say, my friends in Chicago got the fake ad pulled. And one dear fellow even posted a response on CL saying that it was a fake ad.. and that my photos were stolen. lol
