Yikes I slept right through it

I was in the East Bay and am told the building shook quite a lot, but I sleep like a dead person. I have now slept through a hurricane, an earthquake, and a friend running into my apartment yelling "I've been stabbed!" and being carted away in an ambulance. And people wonder how I sleep through my alarm...

Hope everyone is safe!

You are in thoughts and prayers especially those in the North Bay area!!

I live about 45 miles NE of the epicenter... I felt it huge, thought - at first - it was an acid flashback....

Hope all are safe,

Hahaha!! That's funny Jazz. I randomely woke up about 5 minutes before it happened. Felt like the building was swaying, I kind of enjoyed it. I'm glad it wasn't fatal.

....and that the aftershocks have subsided.  Keeping y'all in my prayers.

We need to support Napa and buy/drink California wines.

Haaha... I buy a bottle every week (note: should buy more) . I was actually talking a walk outside when I felt it. Thought I had a little too much to drink. I only realized it was an aftershock this morning :)

Stay safe guys and lovely ladies :)

Yes...I second this sentiment!

Public Service Announcement

If you don't have an earthquake kit, this may be a good time to get one.  There are plenty of vendors out there.  You can also assemble your own, the Red Cross has a list of suggested items.

I'm lazy, I got my kit awhile back at REI but there are lots of vendors.

Also, if you already have a kit, this should be a reminder to check the expiration dates on your food, water and meds.

I didn't even know how to respond. This TX girl ran to the restroom, as if I were in a tornado. Needless to say, as soon as my apartment stopped swaying - I was on a googling mission. Next time, I'll be on top of things...

Hoping we don't have another one soon!!

LOLOL..  I didn't know what to do either!!!!  My first reaction to a natural disaster is to go to the basement (gotta love the Midwest and it's torandos)...  Oi vey,

thanks Kenny for the tips on an emergency kit..   I've got it covered now...

Now, I'll just wait for the flooding this winter that everyone up here keeps talking about.

I've never felt an earthquake in all my life.  Been out here in Cali through many, but have never actually felt one.  I figure with me just getting in from drinking and going straight to sleep... I was in a deep seep and missed this one too, I feel so thankful!
