Why would TER discourage minis? I just don't get it...

As I wrote in the OP, TER should encourage more people to write minis. First, they fill up the board and generate interests, and secondly, they do help fellow hobbyists if they are honest minis. The accuracy of the pics is probably the most important part of the mini as many hobbyists base their decisions primarily on the pics. Plus, minis are not substitutes for reviews; a full review has to be submitted within 72 hours after the mini is posted. More minis means more reviews and I thought TER is a review site. I am scratching my head now.

My mini of Alyssa Riley was removed because it violated one of  the rules for posting a mini: A mini must be posted under a real handle. This rule was created to give credibility to the mini before the alias rview is allowed. However, since we can now post reviews under our aliases, I fail to see why we can't post minis under our aliases as long as we have reviews under our aliases.

I have too many reviews under my real handle so I now review under my alias for local and visiting providers. When I travel, I still review under my real handle, but that is only three or four times a year. If I post a mini under my real handle to follow this rule, and then review under my alias, I would basically out myself. It seems to me TER should encourage people to post minis to help fellow hobbyists by allowing posting minis under aliases

I suppose there is value in allowing alias's. but I hate when jerks  hide  behind them.
However, I think you make a good point and find myself in agreement with you.

Geesh.....I just threw up in my mouth.

The rules are outdated.  Times have changed.

I completely agree with you. That the Mini should be posted with the same handle that review is going to posted under.

The rules about Alias' made alot of since, when everyone could have 4 or 5 aliases and change them at will. Now that you can only have one Alias and it is basically treated like another user name with PM and review capabilities, then many of rules about Aliases should be revised.

You can elect to exclude yourself from "top 100" lists, in your profile preferences
