I go with the tried and true do-it-yourself razor in the shower approach. Just watch those dangly bits. And you might want to do it the day before your big date in case you do nick yourself. Nothing more embarassing than having to postpone a hot date because you are bleeding profusely from your nether appendage. Seriously.
I try to keep the area trimmed to a respectable level. I used to shave bare (down there) but it itched like a son of a gun when it started growing back. I do try to be considerate on the ladies behalf. I like to think they appreciate it. Happy trail? - yes. Impenetrable Amazon rainforest? - no.
But a full body wax for this gent?.. it ain't happenin'.

Admittedly, as I get older I lose hair that I want to keep and gain hair in places where I don't want it. I have been thinking about manscaping. I know many women like it, but I am reluctant to try it as a "do it yourself" project. Are there any providers that provide that service? Or, where do you go to get it done - any recommendations? Or, if I do try to maintain it myself are there any tools of the trade? By the way, I'm talking about the lower regions of the body not chest or back hair. Also, what do the ladies of TER think - turn on or turn off?

I am fully waxed but I suggest taking small steps toward a full body wax. I tried the full body all at once wax but I hated going the next time. It's painful and I sweat so much from the anticipation. Now I do one or two sections at a time. For example I'll do a Brazilian and chest waxy one day. A good Brazilian gal will use the hard wax. One day I'll do legs and so on. Now that I've been waxed several times, I've noticed that not as much hair grows back so it's not as painful. Earlier on I started with back waxing and then moved to the eyebrows. I very much prefer the Brazilian vs. shaving! I used to cut myself and had to shave too often. The Brazilian allows you to not wax again for 4 to 6 weeks. One more piece of advice. Powder, powder, powder after the Brazilian wax. The powder soaks up moisture and keeps down the ingrown hairs.

Magic Shave works pretty good. I use the pre-mixed cream (not the powder). Just rub everywhere you do not want hair, wait about 7 minutes and then scrub off in the shower. It can leave your loofa a little smelly so you may want a separate one for this particular job. Rinse well.
Have not tried the wax yet, but may check out Sweet Peach.
I also recommend Fresh Balls (yep!). Beats gold bond and keeps them exactly as advertised
