I had a bad exchange today with a provider, and I'd like together some other opinions on the situation. I saw her ad, which was posted 20 min before my call. I checked out her website, and saw that there was a phone number. Given the late notice I decided to call her to verify her availability. She was totally rude and behaved as I had somehow broken some unsaid rule about calling providers. So I guess my question is " is it ever appropriate to call a provider when. You have a short notice request?

I prefer email but texting is okay too. If I DID NOT want people calling OR texting I would simply say so in my ads and on my website. Don't let someone's bad attitude freak you out. It's her NOT you.

And calling for last minute has nothing to do with it. There are girls that take last minute appointment requests. Others that don't.

She shouldn't have posted the number.

Being rude is never nice but she probably feels bad about it. Maybe something is going on in her life...I am sure it has nothing to do with you. I agree that if people post their phone numbers, they should expect calls, though, and be ready to handle them!

or gives instructions to only contact her a certain way initially, then follow instructions and don't call. IME, a provider who does not want calls probably does not take short notice appts.

I always use email for first contact, and if short notice may follow up with a text or call just to make sure I didn't wind up in her spam folder and to let her know I am serious.

sorry this happened to you x
