How is any one going to find them?

I was searching dc.backpage.com late last week and contacted a few potential providers that had reviews here.  I received a text message and turns out one of them was representing ExposingJohns.com and my cell phone number got posted on their site along with my FB photo and real name.  It also showed the vanilla text message I sent.  I don't recall which provider it was that turned me in.  The site charges money to delete your profile from them and it's quite an easy process to turn anyone in.

Talking to a lawyer friend, this Exposingjohns site is a known scam site run out of India.  The FTC is looking into them.

Has anyone else experienced issues with them?

don't tell me your cell is linked to your FB page? and your FB isn't private?

It's out-and-out blackmail.  These kind of sites should be run out of business.  There are legitimate BL sites but they should only be used for clients who abuse, rob, threaten or stalk providers.

Thanks for the warning and sorry that happened to you. I was reading about them on the Reviewer board and hopefully there is a special place in hell waiting for these people. I'm definitely going to go get a burner now before my next date.

Just curious... are you going to pay?

If you look at the text they captured you can they are using other sites such as adultsearch. It is just a matter of time before someone makes a special trip to India to deal with this company/individual.

How is any one going to find them?

that was trying to find the source of a scam, in which a beautiful looking young woman was emailing older men (both married and unmarried) about her problems and could they help and so on.  The investigative reporters found out that the girl was a model in Spain, and her pictures were being used without her knowing it.  The reporters then traced the transmissions/IP addresses to an internet café in a small country in Africa (can't recall which from memory now).  They went in and asked the owner to identify certain IP addresses and point out the individual(s) if he could.  The owner pointed to the hundreds of computer terminals, laughed and said "pick one".  Been some years since I have seen that news special, so I can not post a link, sorry.  Just remember how futile the search was.

You should list all the numbers (or ads) here (no names) and we as a community can help to strike out the ones we know are legit, then we can see what the scam ad looks like.

Can you narrow it down for us?

Good idea but I clean my contact information at the end of every day.  I only contacted 3-4 providers and only received a response from one.  I also do not like others posting provider info here as trusted providers I know don't like to reveal information in the open forums (that's why there's screening).  I do believe TER has a forum for identifying bogus providers and I will now keep a record if I decide to ever go back to backpage.

in which to single out an advertisement? BS

You are not a seventeen year old trying to get established in life. Adults who can afford to pay there mobile bill do not need FB.

... and like the others said get a hobby phone.

The only thing that can stop this, is regulating the internet and know one wants that.

Which is what I believe exposing johns real motives are. Next time be more responsible.

Do not google it, Do not go to it, Do not put any part of your number / name etc in the search field ( To see if you, yourself are on the list) ... once they have it, they can correlate it themselves and post it and connect it to info they can find out about you like if you have a facebook page, etc... seeing that no confirmation is needed, this becomes a black mail site... i.e this is setup to also feed itself so you can be blackmailed to have your info removed (they will call it a research fee or some BS, but this scam is real) just don't be naive and go there...
