“The city’s highest officials have turned a blind eye to the evidence that officers are conducting stops in a racially discriminatory manner,” U.S. District Judge Shira Scheindlin wrote in her ruling. “In their zeal to defend a policy that they believe to be effective, they have willfully ignored overwhelming proof that the policy of targeting `the right people’ is racially discriminatory.”

She also cited violations of the Fourth Amendment protection against unreasonable search and seizure.

 That is classic Liberal stupidity. The police have limited resources.  Should they concentrate using them, in an anti-gun crime policy, in the places where, uh, you know, gun crime happens?  No, sayeth the Liberal, that's not fair!  Police need to Stop and Frisk people in very safe neighborhoods that never ever have a shooting too!  They need to frisk Trump!   This is like the dumb TSA thing, where in order to justify frisking the lady in the burka, they need to frisk an old non-muslim lady in a wheel chair and a small child, just for balance.  
     
  "Let’s stick with banning assault weapons to prevent mass public shootings. Not much we can do about other gun violence. And, by the way, the majority of  mass public  shooters since 1982 are white. "  
 This is only true if you don't include mass public shootings in the ghetto.  Most mass shootings are drive bys.

We all know general restrictions on guns just don't work.  Not the "ban every single gun" type restrictions they have in Britain etc (though that has rebounded in HUGE home robber and mugging rates, far more than USA) but the sort possible in the US.  As a general rule, look to a place with a huge gun crime issue (Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago) and it will have very very restrictive gun laws.

But, there was one place that had an effective gun control regimen, to control the guns that matter for the homicide rate and most mass shootings, those in the hands of young black men.  NYC's stop and frisk policy, with automatic jail time for anyone found with a gun on the street, was wildly successful.  It saved thousands of lives, most of them black.  But Liberals opposed it and have now succeeded in overthrowing it.

Why?  Because most gun crime is by blacks, killing blacks, so most stop and frisks were of young black men.  No, the Liberal has to pretend that the REAL gun problem is suburban and rural white guys, and cops.   So they focus on adding more hurdles and harassment to law abiding gun owners, focus on the minority of mass shootings that are not random ghetto shootings, and enflame anti-police sentiment until the police back off... resulting in yet more black bodies in bags, about 800 extra corpses in the last year due to the Ferguson Effect.

the problem is that the NY City police department was stopping and frisking young black men because they were …well young black men, and not because they had reasonable suspicion that the soon to be arrestee had committed a crime.

        Ask yourself where the NYPD concentrated the stop and frisk program. Was it in front of Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue? I don’t think so. I don’t ever recall The Donald being stopped and frisked, even though he claims he does carry. Was it in the black and Hispanic neighborhoods? Absolutely.  

         Add to this obvious racial profiling the NYPD’s use of quotas for stop and frisk. So officers had a real incentive to stop blacks on the street.

      This kind of stop and frisk was obviously a violation of the Fourth Amendment and that in part s why a courageous liberal judge put a temporary stop to it.

        Let’s stick with banning assault weapons to prevent mass public shootings. Not much we can do about other gun violence. And, by the way, the majority of  mass public  shooters since 1982 are white

would treat drive by shootings as mass public killings. This would certainly raise the black and Latino numbers.  

        The most common exclusion I’ve seen in the mass  killing category is the domestic violence group. If you include domestic murders of 3 or more family members as mass killings, the numbers go up substantially.

First, the government counts Hispanics as "white" when they are perps, and "Hispanic" when they are victims... so your stat would be that white and Hispanic men, with Hispanics being the disproportionate share, killed more cops.  That is, if it were a valid statistic, which it isn't.  

Second- King cites no source... because he is reporting his own tally from new sources... not an official stat.  If you look at one of his actual sources, you see a vanishingly small sample size... of the 27 killed in the line of duty, 4 were shot, 1 stabbed.  Total of 5 thru violence, all the others thru accidents or "heat exhaustion (12)"

Third- even if the stat was correct... this means that white men are killing cops right in proportion with their share of the population, about 70%.  So, this could only be news if you are habituated to whites committing far below their share of crime, while blacks commit fare more than their share, which is in fact the normal pattern

was Project Exile, tried in Richmond for a time.

The US Attorney, Richmond Police and the ATF joined forces to apply federal sanctions to gun crimes.  Crimes using a gun automatically called for a mandatory 5 year federal sentence tacked on the the underlying state penalties, 10 years was added if someone was injured.  In 1998 gun crimes were reduced by a 40%.  BOTH the NRA and Brady praised the program

We know how to reduce gun violence, and to focus on the areas where it is most common

how about we just enforce the laws we have, like PE, and make this a nationwide program?

libs don't care, most getting killed were black anyway.  they would rather focus on taking YOUR guns away cuz what works doesn't matter to them - to feel fulfilled, they need to fuck with someone
