well, i did the same for myself with the same results.
in case of trouble, TER claims that they will not sell you down the river - but it still was horrifying to see over 20 pages of Google from this site with my webname, even as it is different from the one i use for public consumption.
you may want to consider not having a name not name associated with a working email address and/or using aliases to post when not necessary to use your board handle.

if your handle is different from your email, it will be harder to trace back to you, and any negatives should be fewer IMO.
