Sadly there are counterfiet travelers check scams going on all over the place now.  I got a warning from my bank about it a few months ago.

CL is full of a-holes!

I had to turn down a client because he wanted to pay, half cash, half American Express traveler's check.

He said that he wanted to keep his withdrawals low so the wife doesn't find out

When i hear traveler's checks, I think of scammers. I accept cash only

No $$$ = no play

Long ago I used to carry them for safety when I traveled, but still got cash from the ATM for hobbying.

One day I was with a very nice provider in NYC and the hour was up but she asked if I wanted another hour and I said sure, but all I had were travelers checks.  She said that was fine and I signed them and gave them to her.  She was very happy with them.

Money talks and bullshit walks.

Be careful, there's also Cash counterfeiters on CL. The only way for no drama is to find upscale clients and stay away from CL. And only accept traveler's checks from upscale regular clients.
