1) Banks HAD to create derivative products to make ANY amount of money because the FED GOVT was forcing them to give mortgages to minorities who had NO WAY of paying back those loans. This was all done in the name of social engineering and forced integration. If the GOVT stayed out of it, this situation would never had arose. The CRA was forced social engineering and it caused the housing crisis and all problems rippling from it.

2) The housing boom started under Clinton. But yes, I do agree that Bush should have raised interest rates and restored us back to sanity. But guess what??? Bush was not a conservative!!!
He was a neocon, which is basically the same as a liberal. The only difference is that neocons support the Israelis whereas liberals support the Palestinians.

3) Do you really think BHO is a good president? Even the most left wing person, if he is truly honest, has to admit that he has been horrendous! What has improved since he has taken over? The last 8 years have been an unmitigated disaster, and why? Because someone with no practical, real world experience was given the presidency. His only jobs prior to potus were community organizer, adjunct law lecturer, and state/us senator (for a brief period). It is no wonder he has been a failure.

4) 1%ers are overwhelmingly liberal. Other than the Koch brothers and Rupert Murdoch (who is not American), can you name a billionaire who is not a lefty? Even Michael Bloomberg, who used to try to pass as a RINO, is a lefty.

5) I am not a GOPer per se. I consider myself a conservative libertarian. I don't use drugs, but if others want to fry their brains, I say let them. And as far as marriage is concerned, I do not think that the state should have any involvement. That includes divorce and child support as well. If individuals want to call themselves "married", then let them, but the state should not have anything to do with that. Everyone should be treated as an individual. With no one counting more than anyone else. And no tax breaks for married people and/or parents. We should all pay a very low flat tax. That would be fair.

6) Sex toys, porn, etc.. Yes, some evangelical bible thumpers get involved in this area, but they are few and far between. Most politicians would be embarrassed to even bring these subjects up.

I'd also toss in Lyndon Johnson, Carter & Reagan.

Too bad for Nixon fans he has Watergate stains on his resume or he could be defined as great.

He was certainly an environmentally conscious President.
If Nixon was dictator and still alive, I doubt he would allow poisoning of  America's land and indiscriminate killing of beneficial insects via toxic chemicals, any death wish fool can purchase at their local store or online.

Who knows what the future will bring in our Presidents.
Electing corrupt politicians  worse than Nixon might become a way of life for America.
With the 2016 election on the horizon, that day could be  closer than we need.

I agree with much of the following, more complete list.

I would've  placed  President Bush and President Obama  higher on the list but close together.
I do respect both of them for the  good  they've  accomplished.
Their weak points from my perspective, much of  their foreign policies have been proven failures and dropped their  standings.

Lincoln is nowhere near # 1 in my list of great Presidents.
I wasn't indoctrinated in my youth with History propaganda books given to the majority of  High school and College students, showing only the good side of Lincoln.
I've read the other side of Lincoln, not nearly as kind.
I  believe Lincoln  could have freed the slaves, ended slavery in the U.S and avoided a civil war
if he was half as great a President as American  history portrays.

I've often found if I want an accurate  picture of History I look at many perspectives on the issues and form a more truthful version of realities in the past.

Never underestimate the direction  future generations might go.
Not likely at all, though possible, in 30 years President Bill Clinton, President Bush and President Obama are charged with war crimes .

If you have no clue why,...............................

Try reading more  on your own and ignore polls that don't really matter.  :-D

On the Fence:

Morphed the U.S. into a "1% oligarchy/corporatocracy". Terrible President. A well known conservative referred to him as a "useful idiot". Considering his scandal/alzheimer's ridden 2nd term, that's a very accurate description.

Reagan and Pope John Paul II are the two men most responsible for the fall of the USSR and the hold on Eastern Europe.

But yes, I will admit he is overrated on domestic issues. He did not rollback and repeal the great society programs. While Tip O'Neill and the left wing congress at the time would have fought him tooth and nail on that, he still should have fought to do it. But that being said, I still believe that he is in the top three Presidents of the 20th century, along with TR and Coolidge

As for Reagan, his morphing of the U.S. into an 1% oligarchy is responsible for many of the financial problems the U.S. is currently. As for Coolidge, many believe his overly laissez faire attitude toward the economy, paved the way for the depression under Hoover. In my opinion, the dude was a mediocrity.

Disagree.
As far as the financial woes we are experiencing, I blame Carter, who initiated the CRA, and the Clintons, who greatly strengthened the CRA.
Left wing social engineering caused the financial problems we are having today. And the current POTUS
has been pouring gas on the fire for the last 8 years.
The govt, both state & fed, with high taxes and ultra left wing agenda, has been destroying the middle class. I have been paying close to 45% of my income for almost 20 years. I am single with no kids. I take NOTHING from the public realm and yet they take almost half from me. How is that fair?
The lefties caused this 1% issue you speak of. Ever notice how the 1%ers like Gates, Buffet, Soros, etc.. are all liberals? It is not a coincidence.

And as for Coolidge, some may believe what you say, but I am not one of them. He was, along with Jefferson, one of the most libertarian presidents we have ever had. Here is a quote from Coolidge:
"Liberty is not collective, it is personal. All liberty is individual liberty."
For me, that says it all

Reagan smacked him down and brought more freedom to the world than any man in history - with the help of the Pope, Lady Margaret and Lech Walensa (sp?)

Gorby when asked why he dismantled the USSR gave a one word answer:  "Reykyavic"
