FB will mine your entire computer, not just your contact data base, for names and phone numbers (e.g., missed  and made cellphone calls). Read the fine print because you've authorized this intrusion when you agreed to their "terms and conditions" of use. Scary

Has this happened to anyone?

I recently had a provider I saw a couple of years ago popup in my personal Facebook news feed as someone I might know.  We have no common connections and I've definitely never messaged her from my email account I use for Facebook.  The provider has moved to another city and from looking at her Facebook I can't really tell if she is still working.  She had some sexy pics that she used in her old ads, but it wasn't obvious what she did and it appeared to be her her personal account with her real name.  I understand how Facebook and Google monitor everything they can, but I'm very careful to keep separate accounts for hobby and life.

Just thought it was very strange and a tad bit creepy.

facebook and linkedin are creepy and not to be trusted.

The latest update (mobile app) for FB is doing some serious digging into your stored contact list, I added several phone numbers recently that weren't hobby related and all of a sudden people that I know also have those number started to show up in my suggestions feed...The only way that is possible is via my contacts that are stored as I have no association with the people suggested other than a particular persons phone number...That said Google+ is also going away, which I'm sure is going to be debacle.

Personally, I couldn't care less who shows up in my feed as a suggestion. It doesn't mean I have to associate with them and my security and privacy settings are such that anyone isn't gonna see any personal stuff....
