It seems that both conservatives and liberals are united on this issue. The American People are just plain sick and fucking tired of their politicians being bribed by the rich. Let's face it. The Republican party does not represent your average conservative American. They represent a couple rich assholes who happen to be conservative. The Democratic Party does not represent your average liberal. They represent a few special interests who have deep pockets. The net result of this is that neither party represents the people they're supposed to. They represent those who bribe them. It's open and blatant corruption and people are tired of it.
Quite frankly, I think we'd be better off mandating that all campaigns must be publicly funded, no politician is allowed to take any money from anyone for any reason (other than the salary he gets for doing his job) and just making lobbying illegal.
Hell, this is why Trump is so popular. You have Republicans bashing Trump for giving money to liberals and then Trump says, "I gave money to this guy too. He even sent me an autographed copy of his book". This is why Hilary is having to fight tooth and nail to get the nomination from a guy like Bernie Sanders, a guy who's been so disgusted by the open bribery in the Democratic party that he's spent his entire political career as an independent.
There isn't a single politician in Washington, of either party, that isn't in some way corrupted by this bullshit. And asking the politicians to fix this mess is like asking the fox to guard the hen house. The American People are fixing this shit the only way they know how. And that is why Trump and Bernie Sanders are as popular as they are.

... it just took a little bit longer for the dust to settle here in the US but make no mistake, this country is an Oligarchy and this election campaign season has made it apparent to almost everyone who is paying attention. What they weren't expecting was the rise of Trump on one hand Sanders on the other hand, and Ted Cruz as the REASONABLE ALTERNATIVE to Donald Trump.
I just can't take it seriously anymore. Life During Wartime at 70 mph is my next move.
