Jake, you are conflating a very VERY small subsect of Chassidic Jewry called the Neturei Karta, with the entire Chassidic Jewish population, of which there are dozens of recognized sects starting with Chabad Lubavitch, who number in the hundreds of thousands worldwide and who most definitely DO believe in, AND support the State of Israel. Then there are the tens of thousands of Chassidic Jews living in the Five Boroughs including my nephew, his family and about 100 first second and third cousins on my mothers side. ALL of them live a Chassidic Orthodox lifestyle, with all that implies. And each and every one of them hopes to eventually make Aaliyah to Israel "im yertz hashem".

As for your statement "They believe a true State of Israel cannot be created until the Second Coming." - again, all due respect, it is the Neturei Karta who believe the State of Israel can not exist until the Moshiach (Messiah) has come. A cult-like subsect comprising less than 100 families worldwide with virtually ZERO political influence in the Jewish community at large.

It is the mantra belief of the Christian Evangelicals that the Second Coming can not happen until the Greater State of Israel has been reunified. Sort of like when Spock tried to reunify the Romulans and Remans.

On the other hand, MY head exploded from being raised in that same Chassidic environment, so I do know exactly what you mean by that :P

As for Ted Cruz, you are quite correct about his clueless staff. You see, among other things, those Chassidic Jews in Brooklyn Ted was pandering to might look like they stepped out of the 18th century, but they all use the Internet, and they all know about Ted's love of machine gun bacon and his true Evangelical ways. And they know better than to vote for him.

Trust me, Chassidim have their New York Values:)

btw - nice khaki's.

So Ted was in Brooklyn today and spent a lot of time with the Hasidic Jews there.  He made Matzoh with kids.  He even ate some.  I damn near gagged.  Then he went on CNN and told Dana Bash about how much he loved religious freedom and supported Israel.
I guess no one on his staff knows much about Hasidic Jews.  See, most of them don't believe in -- or support -- the State of Israel.  They believe a true State of Israel cannot be created until the Second Coming.
IOW, anyone who knows anything about Hasidic Jews knows they don't support Israel.  I guess that doesn't include clueless Ted.
New York is too complicated for this clown.

...Hasidim don't believe in a "Second Coming" because that refers to Jesus.   They do believe that there cannot be a country of Israel until their Messiah comes, but that won't be Jesus.  It will be a descendant of King David.

Both Cruz and the Hasidim fervently want the Messiah to come.  What's funny is the difference in what the two religions believe will happen when Jesus returns or the Messiah comes.  The Hasidim believe that when the Messiah comes there will be world peace and no more wars or famine (bunch of friggin' hippies).

Cruz and the thumpers believe that when Jesus returns - "No one gets out of here alive."  I sure know which version I prefer.

But it doesn't matter - it ain't gonna happen.  Both religions believe that the Holy Temple has to be rebuilt as a prerequisite for Jesus/Messiah to return/come.  In order to do that, the al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock would have to be destroyed.  Unless God himself rebuilt the Temple, any effort to rebuild the Temple on the Temple Mount would unleash WWIII, IV and V

... there CAN be a State of Israel without the Messiah. The coming of the Moshiach ushers in the Thousand Years of Peace. But the Moshiach still needs a destination, and that destination is Jerusalem. Site of the Holy Temple. Violence is not desired, but unavoidable.

As opposed to the violence prominently featured in the lore of both the Christian Messiah and the Islamic Mahdi; part of the purge of sinners and unfaithful.

It's the flashpoint.

Of course, most of us  realize by now, some groups  are in the open, vocal and
     proud of  their evil.

Your info is interesting.  I relied on Wiki, which is dangerous, and also failed to notice their flag that the accuracy of the article was "in dispute."
Oh, and when I said I was from State Farm.......
I lied

Wiki is an amazing resource... but sadly, they can't fact check everything, and not much is known about the real world of Chassidic Jewry outside the "bubble".

So are you Flo pretending to be Jake or Jake pretending to be Flo?
Either way, you seem to have a cross-dresser fetish.
I know a few providers who are into that if you need a recommendation.

tell me about any construction delays for the Temple. Second, it doesn't matter to Ted if he got the details wrong; his photo op screams "Jew / Me / Good" to Christian thumpers and some gullible non-observant as well as orthodox Jews.
