Could be worth a once-over just in case, I.e. maybe that's the hidden explanation ur looking for?

For scenario 1 it is the screener saying that I haven't met with her (the screener) rather than the fact that I had numerous meetings with a regular provider for whom she screened.

For scenario 2 I met with her once about 3 months ago... so it is understandable that she may forget

I can use several people as references, but there were 2 situations in the last 3 months that are pretty weird and I think some providers and screeners should think about.

Situation 1:

A provider that saw regularly had a falling out with her screener.  The regular provider moved out of town and I since I normally made contact via the screener I tried to use the screener to vouch for me with a new provider as a reference.  I was expecting that the screener would be able to accurately portray the situation in that I was someone who would be ok to see.

Instead the screener said she never saw me before and I had to used other references besides her.  Good to know, but the screener also starts screening for other providers using their published number  and when I give the published number to a new contact it goes back to the screener who proceeds to tell them she's never met me.   She doesn't tell them I did meet the provider who is associated with the contact number.

This is kind of irritating since I don't know who she'll start screening for next.

Situation 2:

A provider I've seen only once before, tells me I can use her as a reference, but because of time she forgets about me... totally understandable.  But I try to remind her, but she insists that she doesn't remember... I show her previous communication - between she and I - that bolsters my claim and she tells me I'm a cop.

Another very irritating situation.  Also causing me problems with the new contact with whom I'm trying to schedule.

All I can do is write is off and use more solid references, but it kind of makes me look bad to the new contact.  Not cool.

So providers and screeners be honest, but also be sensitive to us poor clients who would like to use you as references

How long had it been since you saw the provider in your second scenario?  I have always tended not to give references for clients that haven't visited in an extended period of time.  A lot can happen in a year or so.  However, I'm upfront about the fact that I either won't vouch or that I'm informing the lady of the length of time since the last date.  Maybe it's due to significant time passing since your last encounter?

Situation 1, I can't relate to.  I've never used a screener, but maybe when she had the falling out with the provider, she didn't maintain any of the contact information.  Would make sense, I guess.  I won't vouch for someone that I'm not 100% sure of.

Hi Alyssa,

I met provider in scenario 2 about 3 months ago, so it is totally understandable,  it was just that when I attempted to remind her she said she thought I was a cop.

In scenario 1 after the 1st time I stopped using the screener as a part of my references, but was surprised when she answered a reference for a different provider's contact info.  I wasn't aware that she had started being the screener for someone else I had seen.

The falling out with the other provider affected me because I was briefly mediating between the 2 parties... I had no problems with the screener, but she and the other provider had issues... I just didn't want any of it affecting me with referencing and as such I stopped using the screener as a part of my references.

Hence the wierdness of the first scenario.

The weirdness of the second scenario is that I was hoping to jog some memory, but it was taken as me being pushy and possibly being a cop

In my opinion, at least. I was thinking it was maybe a somewhere along the lines of a year. I know a lot of ladies (myself included) don't give or accept references that old. But three months isn't a problem. Not everybody has the chance to jump the bones of a lovely new lady every week.

She seems oddly paranoid. Go with TL - try P411.

It will often result in them thinking that you are LE, and usually with good cause. Cops try to get people to incriminate themselves. What better way than to convince a hooker they have never seen to "remember" him with a little generic prodding "Sure, you remember me, don't you? It's Mike, you know the guy with the hat" Some inexperienced women will fall for crap like that. Others keep their guard up. sorry.

Just join P411 ;)

As a happy member of P 411 I haven't had to go through the reference gauntlet for years now. I am so spoiled that if any woman wants me to jump through all those hoops in order to give her money, I simply move onto the next gal that strikes my fancy.

Yes, I know that there are women that still insist on references on top of P 411 okays, but in a town like Atlanta with so many women that don't make you "beg to pass for pussy" there is no real reason to jump through those unnecessary hoops if you choose not to.

move on my gnarly friend.  Plenty of babes out there that want your moolah.
Find a new atf and have her be your reference.
