I was thinking it might be helpful to be able to click on e-mail addresses on the review page and see if the provider has other reviews with the same ip address (not unlike clicking on the phone numbers). I know you can search by e-mail but this only allows for exact emial matches, which it is easy to change.
a lot of providers are using e-mail only and I think this can lead to a lot of deception.
I know this would remove the feature of clicking on an e-mail and getting your mail program to load, but I find that annoying anyway...
A decent idea, but do you know that it is not really that difficult to fake an IP address? I can think of a couple of different ways I can post e-mail that will show different IP addresses. I can even send out e-mail through remailer chains that won't show anything but a faked IP address inserted by the last remailer in the chain.
Furthermore, everybody who uses the largest Internet provider out there (AOL), uses the same few IP addresses for Web and Email access. Therefore 100 mail messages from 100 different AOL users might come from 2 or 3 IP Addresses.
That is why whenever anybody uses web log analysis programs, the most popular place that people connect to websites from is Herndon, VA.
