I tried the cam thing for about 1/2 day on one of those online swinger sites. Yikes! No way would I want to meet in person any of the folks I saw there.  Trust what Bostonguy57 is telling you.

Hi there,
I am totally new here and kinda the whole business.  I am a web cam girl who has been asked many times to meet in person.  But this isnt allowed where I work.  I want to get some surgery done and need money asap and figured that maybe I could take some of these guys up on their offers.  Now I have a server which I can get my own web page on and all that.  
My question is where would a girl like me go to find out general questions about becoming a "provider".

You may want to check the the providers only board but you also want to be very careful. I have a good friend who is a retired provider now doing web cam. The customers are very different. She swears she wouldn't go within 100 mies of most of the guys she meets on cam.  Escorting may be just the thing for you but looking for clients through your cam escapades may not be the way to go.
Think twice and be safe.

I understand your warnings and appreciate the heads up.
I guess the reason why I mentioned the web cam thing....is because I am a fetish girl and would like to know if there is a market out there for a girl like me :)  Those guys that I entertain are specifically into what I am really good at.

Unfortunately, the Provider's Only Board requires a lady to have three reviews before being granted access. Being a newbie, it will be a while before she is able to access that board.

My advice:

1. Pay for VIP status here at TER, and then spend some time reading reviews. Lots of them. You have at your disposal a treasure trove of information that will give you insight into what works and doesn't work, average rates in your area, etc.

2. You need a website in order to be reviewed, and also to get noticed. Rare-escort.com is a free website (some guys say rare-escort is cheap but its a great starting point).

3. Regarding fetish, I too was a phone sex girl (still am, just not as much since real life is SOOOO much more fun). I can't begin to tell you how VERY night and day different web cam/phone is from real life. I too put a fairly heavy emphasis on fetish play when I was on the phones, but as a provider, I don't even mention fetish play in my ads or on my site. That however, is a personal choice. There are absolutely women who specialize in fetish play, and generally state something to the effect of "fetishes welcome" on their website without getting into any specific details. However you choose to approach it, set your boundaries and work within whatever your comfort level is.

I thank everyone for responding and I am going to take your advice and get a VIP membership.  I am working though and dedicate that time for work.  So I will have to wait until tommorow (my day off) so that I can dedicate time without getting interupted. :)
The more I think about this though...the more I thnik I am to hardcore for any other job then webcam.  Or maybe stags :)  I am a freak show and the guys that are into what I do(still do Vaniilla stuff too)....are probably pretty minimal
