In Europe papers are very clearly on one side, but that doesn't change the fact that previously none of the papers took this view.  They don't hide their view and people take the for what they are worth.  Because they are open, ironically they tend to be fairer, so as not to be dimissed out of hand.

Second, "conservatives" in Europe are far more liberal than conservatives here.  For example, no conservatives talk about undoing (or fixing) the medical system.  (There are problems, but that is a red herring and beyond the scope of this post, so let's avoid it. I am just saying that "conservative" there is liberal here.)

Likewise during the Sexual Assault rage recently ALL PAPERS withheld the news, liberal and conservative, for days, until social media broke the story.
'None were "anti-immigrant," even though many people in Europe feel they are being invaded.  THey did not take the "conservative" position that is comparable to here.

Finally, even the comments that are anti-Obama are from the left, calling his a war monger.
