I know this is P4P, but I have to believe that most women still want a man to "be a man" not a spineless jellyfish, and please don't confuse the guys who are genuinely "nice" with the suck ups, who are not really "nice" guys, but just guys with no back bone who think that "sucking up" will somehow endear them to the ladies here, when actually it's the opposite that is true.

That is one of the great unspoken (well until now - thanks for giving our secrets away) truths of living in the south. You can say the most awful, hateful, mean and nasty thing about a person as long as you follow it up with "bless his/her/your/their heart". Then all is forgiven.

I have been trying to learn the correct usage. I have been told you can detect a non southern by how ineffectively placed then tiny blessing are used.
I doubt GaG will take the lesson in southern courtesy, bless his heart, but I doubt he even wants the facade of niceness.
It's not much of a secret. There are whole websites set up on proper usage and even psycho babble about what it really means. I put it in same category as using lol, lmfao, etc in texting. Or how friends will insert a "fuck you" into conversation to recognize a point being scored. You are not really cursing at the friend, but celebrating thier out ribbing you,
