Improvement to discussion boards

I've seen boards at other sites where when a post is added to a thread, that thread moves back up to the top of the board. It works much better because the topics with the most interest stay towards the top long enough to get fully discussed instead of dying into the next page.

I'd like to see the TER boards work that way.

I would have to strongly disagree with what you're proposing.  There are already those among us who post numerous times (10 or more) in the same thread.  I don't know why they feel this is necessary...maybe they think the boards are like pm's or chat, maybe they just like seeing their name on the boards.  But if the thread constantly moved to the top of the page it would result in having to wade past all that in order to get to other topics.

I have seen discussion boards with a button you can use to toggle how you want the threads to be displayed. And you can choosed to view them collapsed also if you don't like scrolling through all the posts like you were saying. It's nice to have the flexibilty. But there's so many times when there's a really good thread going on and then all of a sudden there's a bunch of visiting provider ads or something and the thread moves to the next page. Once that happens forget it, it's over.
