I would suggest that you post this on the Legal Board below and see if anyone there has a take on this, but I would say (in my very non-professional opinion) that whether you are allowed to do any of these things or not depends a lot on two things:

First, whether or not anyone becomes aware of the activities and complains about them (owing to traffic, or a jealous wife, or any number of things.)

Secondly, how blue-nosed (or bored) the local cops are.

If you get arrested, even for something as simple as doing some exotic dancing, no touching involved, you will end up having to pay lawyers and spend time in court and basically going through a living hell.  You may end up going to the Supreme Court and winning, but does that kind of life sound like what you want to do?

Lenny Bruce did this, remember him?  He told funny jokes that made people upset and used a few four letter words.  He got charged with obscenity.  He won in court, but died a broken man, financially and spiritually.  However, it's because of people like him that we can have Howard Stern today.  (Big whoop!)

In any case, your success will depend upon how shrewdly and wisely you pick your clientelle and manage the neighbors, but it's still good to ask I suppose.

I wish you all the best of luck.

Background: My friend and I are newbies in Boston, MA, USA to the escort type business & although we sent emails to a bunch of local escorts, no one seemed to want to help us & many were actually rude! If anyone would be willing to take a few minutes to answer some questions it would be -GREATLY- appreciated. I know some of these questions might sound naïve, but we’re new to this so we just want to cover all the bases.

WHAT EROTIC SERVICES ARE LEGAL?
We don’t know which erotic services are legal & which are not. There seems to be a very fine line and we are NOT looking to have sex for money (prostitution), but we’d like to get paid for erotic services that please clients.
We are looking to get paid to offer things such as erotic dancing, lap-dancing, stripping, neck/back massage, erotic/flirty chit-chat, companionship, etc. We’re also not sure what other & more intimate types of erotic services are legal??? The types of things we want to know for sure if they are legal are not, are: masturbation (by the client, while we are giving a lap-dance), masturbation (performed –on- ourselves –by- ourselves, while the client watches), having sex with each other (note: meaning me & the other girl have sex or use toys on/in each other while the client watches like a lesbian show??), giving oral sex to each other (me and the other stripper) while the client watches, BDSM play such as walking on a client in heels or whipping a client, peeing on each other or peeing on a client, spanking each other or a client, etc. I’m assuming some of these may be illegal in the state of MA to get paid for, but some may not be under certain circumstances. Can anyone answer this question for me or direct me to where we can find specifics on these? It is very important that we know what we can and cannot do for money. We want to be able to ask clients what they want for services without being arrested for asking or doing any of these… so I want to make sure anything we’re offering is on the up & up, etc.

Can anyone give us facts, direct us to the right info, tips, answers, thoughts, etc??
And please don’t be rude if we sound completely idiotic.. we’re just clueless to this business and not sure where to begin and how to stay safe and legal. Thanks!!!!!

A lot depends on the ordinances in your local community ...

But if you simply want to follow the law, it is straightforward ...  companionship, massage, erotic dancing, chat are legal

---  lap-dancing & voyeuristic sex with your friend will depend on the local ordinances.

Most of the other stuff listed is not legal.

I think I can explain the reception of the gals you contacted.  Receiving an email from someone unknown, asking what is legal is really spooky.  If you read the Legal board, you will find the story of a nude model who happened to be arrested because she was nude and had a condom in her possession, which, according to the cops meant that sex for pay was obviously was on offer.

Feel free to ask your questions here on the newbie board!
