Let me clarify:

The bus got to the train station 5 minutes after the train left.

Next time, I will hire a driver.

I was supposed to meet with a client this weekend...but it went horribly wrong!

My cell phone ran out of minutes..and the payphones I tried to use were all BROKEN. The same thing happened 2 weeks ago. I told him that it wasn't meant for us to meet.

To make things worse, the would-be client accused me of being flaky...that I didn't show up. I was there at the train station, looking for him.

I wanted to try CL out again and see what would happen. Of course, the worst did.

Luckily for me, I have other places that I advertise. I'm afraid that this person will go around spreading lies about me. What a loser!

Have you looked at advertising on the erotic services (free) part of cityvibe.com?  CL seems to have only brought you trouble!

Sorry for the bad luck, but you have to see it from the client's point of view too.  You canceled on him twice in 2 weeks - for exactly the same reasons!  Of course he has a a hard time believing it.  Wouldn't you?

You feel it's unfair to accuse you of being flaky because you did make the effort anyway.  It's not clear why you did not see each other at the station, but even on the bare facts of the matter it doesn't look good for you.

Imagine if I missed out on 2 appointments with you because I ran out of gas - twice!  The first time, maybe, but most people would think it was bullshit the second time around.

You're calling this guy a loser based on something he has not yet done to your knowledge.  You let your cellphone minutes run out when you should have known better.  Come on, who are you to be calling anyone names?

Call him up and offer to mail him a money order to compensate him for his travel expenses in two unsuccessful attempts to meet you.  That should restore your reputation.

Ever since I started using CL, I've had problems. From no-shows to people harassing me for no reason.

I tried offering him compensation. He said no and hasn't spoken to me since.

I've learned my lesson...and have moved on.

but I have to go with the others on this one.  If you allowed your cell phone to "run out of minutes" twice in two weeks with the same guy that isn't karma or the universe trying to keep you apart, and you don't appear to be takng any responsibility for it.  The word "flaky" might just apply...

I AM taking responsibility for my actions. I acknowledge that I made a couple of costly mistakes.

I never said that my cell phone ran out of minutes twice in two weeks. It ran out only once (the second time I tried to meet with him). I apologize for not being specific.

The first time I spoke to him was from my home phone, not my cell. I didn't make it to the first appointment because I missed the train. The bus got there 5 minutes after the train left.

I called him and told him I couldn't make it. We attempted a second meeting (which never took place).

I made mistakes and I won't disagree with that. I m working to make sure it never happens again.

I've already met with another client from CL. And this time, no mistakes were made. I was there ON TIME and even had my roommate drive me to the train station (to ensure I got to my appt on time).

Flaky? No way. This has never happened to me before. It won't happen again. My failed appointment has made me realize that "my game wasn't tight." There is no excuse for working half-assed.

That's why I said "I have learned my lesson and moved on."
