Now he's all over the airwaves blaming the current administration for destabilizing the Middle East. This war criminal should be put on trial at the World Court at the Hague.

"Meet The Press" host Chuck Todd also played a clip of Dick Cheney in 1994 arguing that toppling Saddam Hussein during the first Gulf War would have been irresponsible.

"If you take down the central government in Iraq, you can see pieces of Iraq flying off," Cheney said at the time, describing a situation that would destabilize Iraq, Syria and Turkey. Cheney now blames Obama for problems in the region, saying the current administration abandoned a successful military project.

...post 9/11.  Saddam didn't have WMD in '94 as everyone thought he did in 2003.  Everyone thought he had something to do with 9/11.  He tried to kill my daddy - oops, forget I said that.

Cheney was right about the Kurds though.  Too bad he didn't care about that small detail in 2003.

He shouldn't be put on trial until after he's "interrogated" at Gitmo and he confesses his crimes

In the video, he actually sounds rational, not like the war mongering hawk that he is now..hum, business must be bad.

They all knew the dangers but still went ahead with this crazy war.
I glad this clip came out to show how much damage the GOP and some weak ass Democrats did to this country.

... in point of fact, he had not yet achieved his position at Halliburton, and was still merely a political operative. He started his first job as intern during the Nixon administration, and was a player in the Ford interim years. He cut his REAL chops as a GOP henchman working under Donald Rumsfeld, and wound up a significant player for Bush 41 during the first Gulf war. He didn't become the Devil Incarnate until he appointed himself the VPOTUS candidate (and primary babysitter and Mentor) for Shrub, and that was during, and after his stint at the top of Halliburton.

How does one punish such an individual? It is apparent from his continued diatribes that he sees himself as untouchable and above the law. Don't tell me Congress will do anything about it, not even a Democratically-controlled Congress was willing to step up and hector Shrub Cheney and Rumsfeld even after it was apparent they were lying through their pearly whites.

If was up to me, I'd toss him into a deep hole in Leavenworth and throw away the key.

But it isn't up to me.

Our current liar in chief is not going after his predecessors any more than the Bush clan was going after Clinton after he was out of office or the next POTUS is going to go after Obama for any of his many transgressions. They ALL know that if you go after the guy who sat in the chair before him, that means he is fair game when he leaves office. It's just not going to happen.

Besides, under Bush "we broke it, we bought it" under Obama we just left a power vacuum that the Iranians have been happy to fill. I am not "Monday morning QBing" here, I said it at the time that it was a HUGE mistake, and I still think the only way to fix it is to go back there in sufficient numbers to put ISIS down, and then once we have done so, we still need to stay another hundred years if necessary.

... but I was curious to see how, or even if bg30 would respond to my post more than anything else. I know damned well that if Cheney was ever going to be called on the carpet it would have happened years ago.
It is unlikely none of the architects of the Iraq invasion will ever suffer any consequences.

that Obama hasn't done as bad or worse?

If someone wants to call Cheney a war criminal, I am fine with that, as long as they cop to Obama being one.

If it's gross incompetence, that is dealt with by elections and term limits.

I think neither are war criminals so I feel like I have always been consistent on this issue.

You won't get an argument out of me.

Appeasement of a terrorist entity should be a war crime. Obama's kowtowing to the Persian Hegemony is the same level of naive ignorance as Nevile Chamberlain's appeasement of the Nazis.

Meanwhile, the anti-American rhetoric coming out of Tehran has increased substantially since the "deal".

The question of the deal itself is moot, and apparently, was a rigged game from day 1.

But the war itself is far from over.

Do you even know how to be civil? Or are you just wired from birth to be incapable of civil discourse with anyone who doesn't agree with you "1000%"? Do you really think your belligerence and bullying demeanor is going to get you anywhere? You've already been squelched several times because of your attitude and violations of policy. Do you really want to join your feckless comrade in Limbo-land?

As for your comment, I DO see the Big Picture you petty little man. And I see it with the benefit of having spent time in the Middle East, and of having experienced both the best and the worst the Middle East has to offer.

I maintain, and will continue to maintain that the Iran deal is a bad deal. But I have also acknowledged that it is a moot point, AND THAT I TRULY HOPE I TURN OUT TO BE WRONG! But based on the post-signing diatribes coming out of Iran, based on the information now slowly becoming available to the general public, and based on my GUT instincts, I believe my assessment will prove to be correct in the months and years to come. If you have a problem with that, then the only fraud in this conversation, is you.

Support has now evaporated for this deal. Only 1 in 5 are in favor.

Do you know how many millions of liberals that must be against it to get only 21% support

that Mr. Obama will not even be required to veto a Senate vote of disapproval. There won’t be a resolution of disapproval, unless someone changes his mind.

But you get credit for the best spin of the day in claiming “support” for the deal has “evaporated.” In fact, I feel like I’m in one of those of those 5000 centrifuges that Iran had during the Bush Cheney years.

The only support that matters is the guys in the Senate. True, the same members of the public who support Donald Trump oppose the Iran deal, but I find that comforting.  How many of those guys know the difference between a plutonium bomb and an uranium bomb? How many understand that the bar on plutonium production at Arak is the real jewel of the agreement? .000001? You may as well have them vote on whether they approve the theory of relativity.

And, of course, that poll does not ask the key question that underlies the Senate votes for approval -“what’s the alternative?” Once you frame that question, you get very different answers

and now at 20, I am all ears.

How about "hemorrhaging?" LOL

Well, that's the Washington Posts "spin" I guess. :D

As for Ezra Klein... sorry, but the man has not identified as a Jew since attending college in Santa Cruz and UCLA. He identifies as agnostic, married a non-Jewish woman, and has written articles that read like something out of a handbook for the BDS movement that even J Street would reject outright.

Europe may have a secret agenda to go after Cheney.I don't think that he's made a trip outside of the US in awhile. It'll be interesting if Cheney was arrested in Europe, what would Obama do? It'll be a slow process to get his ass back. The hostages in Iran would have a better chance of getting free then Cheney would....I know, it's a dream

You talk and act like Dick Cheney on the Iran Deal.
Then you want to leave it aside to complain about him?
It would be no Isis if it was not for the Bush White House.
Also you and the other war hawks are so brainwashed about war.
So all of you want to make another Iraq in Iran and that is why you guys are not creditable.

such as the class action filed by an Iraqi mother. I do not think they will succeed but we can always hope.

And the good ole Kuala Lumpur Tribunal has already convicted Cheney et al for torture related war crimes. He 's not going to be duck hunting in Malyasia anytime soon.

Notice all her art work next to her and even more incriminating, she is sitting on the SAME couch as her attorney.

No self respecting conservative would ever do that. LOL

The Saleh vs Bush lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice in December 2014. Keep on hoping marikod, in the meantime the rest of us will just use Google instead of closing our eyes tight and wishing really, really hard.

Ninth Circuit rules on the appeal and the Supreme Court declines to review it, we don't know if the case is over. This type of litigation has so many novel issues that the attys know from the start that appellate courts will decide tHe issues. An amicus brief has been filed in support of the plaintiff that adds more sophisticated arguments than the overmatched plaintiff atty could handle.

And the dismissal was on jurisdictional grounds, not the merits. The trial court error was in refusing to grant an evidentiary hearing. So while I still think she will lose, it remains possible she will at least be entitled to an evidentiary hearing and juisdictional discovery.

Until the thread you referenced, about a year ago, I had always thought that maybe Mari was some kind of "classroom" lawyer, perhaps someone who had graduated law school, but had never seen the inside of a courtroom. About a year ago, I stopped giving him any such BOD, and I now agree that he is much more likely an unemployed porn star as he claims, and never attended law school at all, except maybe to try and get a pick up basketball game with a bunch of lame white guys that he could compete with.

In all fairness to my original opinion of Mari, he does seem to have the same tenuous grip on reality so common in academics, but I do find it ironic that the date of my post finally admitting that BPS was right about Mari seems to coincide with the timing of Mari putting me on "ignore" I guess the truth hurts.

...marikod and dncphil put together.

but ole Pri hasn't been heard from since. I can't speak for Phil, but I'd hire you again well before ever calling Marikod, at least you post a disclaimer that you are a fake lawyer, I would suggest that Mari start using one as well. but we all know Mari and the truth are only casually acquainted and are rarely on speaking terms.
