Depends upon the gal.....some want more info than others....some will accept whatever they are told....some ask for photo ID.  With this particular gal-give her a fake name and see what happens ....not thing to lose !

Like most on this board I've been at this a long time and recently encountered a situation I want to run by others. First, I am White Listed here in TER with several postings including current ones.

There is a provider I would like to see who is asking for my first and last name.  I've not encountered this before since most everyone -- providers and clients -- live behind some sort of pseudonym.  This is deal breaker for me, and my first reaction is that I'll give you my real name if you give me yours; but I thought I would cast the question:

Have any of you encountered this sort of requests?  Did you give a pseudonym? If so, has it worked?  If any providers are reading this, is a client REALLY expected to give a name or is this part of the Kabuki dance and an alias that can be tracked to TER or P411 would be fine?

If a companion's screening process is too thorough for you, move along to someone who's less careful, and good luck

So there you have it....from the keyboard of a gal with expertise !

Personally-I give her whatever she asks for...this is not new...I can recall "Back In The Day" before computers, etc....when the gal would ask for your driver's license and a plane ticket or car rental receipt if you were traveling.  It has never created an issue for me......but.......it is what it is !

Maybe after I had some experience. But being that I am a true newby/never connected with a provider EVER, I am  concerned over giving my personal information to a complete stranger before meeting her.  Is it basically do it or forget it?  I have been going research and reviewing the posts here in TER...... is this what most of the hobbyists here provided before meeting your first provider??

It's going to be her call.......I have never had it come up as a problem....I just give them what they want.  (I've never had one ask for a social security number and wouldn't give it.)

So it comes down to what you and the gal are willing to accept.

specially since you are new!!!!

well, one thing you can do:
-go to bp
-search for those ads that have really low rates, available now, top model pictures and they would not ask for screening but would tell you to go there asap ! LOL....

-then ... come back here and tell us where did you end up

LOL

did you wake up on the wrong side of the bed??

and you don't read well at all...... plus I was trying to get more of a lobbyist side of the situation.  I am sure that providers would like more information than necessary to protect them..........  I am trying to limit my information to be sure it isn't used against me.  I am doing my research here with TER.

Why is there so much negativity..........  we are here asking questions and exchanging information right??

ME? no, not at all. I am in the best spot on my bed :) ... I am just very straight forward and honest about safety and discretion. If you meet with reputable ladies; you should not have issue that information stays private and secure.

I finally convinced him to try a provider and stop with the AMP's.. He is soo careful.. He picked up a burner phone.. He created a new email address.. soo careful.. I called an agency and vouched for him.. screening was something he would never do..
We were in the car together on the speaker phone with the booker.. He made a date.. and then confirmed with the booker from his new "secret email address and used his fake name with her...both speaking to her and also to close the email..
One problem.. His mailer automatically added his real name and all of his real contact info and home phone..  when he talked to booker she let him know what had happened.. and his secret was safe with her..  I laughed so hard when he told me.. he also sid seeing a provider was the best thing he had ever done..  LO

Sounds like something that would happen to me back when I started.

There are a few ladies that require your full name, however, in my experience, most will take your references or your P411 ID without having to give your full last name.  There will always be this tension between what the lady feels she needs to feel safe and the guys desire for anonymity. Each lady is entitled to set her screening requirements and each of us guys can either comply or move on based on what we're comfortable providing. Personally, I've given a couple of ladies my full name and haven't had an issue, but I don't recommend it for everyone. Only you can decide whether the risk is worth the reward.

I've always given it out.  I understand the reticence to do so, but if you are dealing with well reviewed gals, there is very little risk in doing so, and you in return get access to the more careful and better quality providers.

Overall, your risk should go down by seeing such providers

Ahw mrfisher,  I guess that is what I wanted to say. :) thanks!

More than half the gals that I know require the clients real name and I follow the same routine as mrfisher.  I only see well reviewed providers, so the risk level is lower.

I'm also a member of RS2K which is preferred by many providers in my hometown, so if I see a provider who accepts RS2K as part of her screening, they require your real name in order to use RS2K to verify you.

Anyways, our hobby comes with risks and we each have to assess how much risk we are wiling to take when seeing any provider.  Personally, I would be afraid to see a provider who is lax in her screening methods.

I just cannot get what I want to say into the right words.
So all I can say now is.......
In the end- it is an individual decision that everyone has to make for themselves.

I too have P411 OK's and TER whitelist.  I have been asked twice recently for my real name.   Both times, I told them I fully understood the request, but that I no longer provide this information.   I don't argue or put up any resistance.  Just that I won't proceed with the appointment.  No hard feelings.  Both times, the provider volunteered to meet anyway.   And then the appointment proceeded.

If she`s well reviewed, hot and gorgeous, I`ll give her more than she asks for, pictures etc. I`m not married, no kids and own my own business. I`m proud of my hobbying and will tell anyone who will listen about it and they`re all jealous as hell, lol

Well not everyone is immune to being outed.   Some of us have a lot to lose.   So I don't see what your personal situation has to do with my post.

willing to give, then move on to someone else.

The less cred you have, meaning reviews, white lists, P411 OK's, board familiarity, etc., the more info you will need to give.

Every provider has the right to feel safe when meeting with a client.

For the edification of all, "the rest of the story:"

I ended up providing all of the info requested and ended my email by saying something like, "As for my name, I'm not sure if you are looking for my real name or the handle I use on both TER and P411."  I gave the latter and was approved.  No mention again of my actual name.  This suggests that either I was overthinking or everything else checked out well enough to override the need for the name.  Who knows?  I'll ask when I see her.

Thanks for the feedback.

Worst case scenario for you:

If you are dealing with someone who is going to blackmail you, rob you or otherwise compromise your comfort or financial standing, do you honestly think that you would be the first person they would do this to? And if you are not the first person that they have done this to, do you really expect that the last person they tried this with would NOT put them on full blast on every forum available anywhere? Unless this is someone with no previous presence, a lack of website to help track them down under investigation and just a random number on an ad on some place like BP... at which point, WHY are you messing around with someone who is nothing more than a text ad and a phone number anyway?

So worst case scenario - maybe this person has an honest to god website (which makes them a lot easier to find if there is ever a problem), a long standing presence (they didn't pop up out of nowhere yesterday), and maybe even a presence on one or more of the forums either by mentions/reviews (that they may or may not have asked for) or by actual participation... and for the first time ever with YOU and only, uniquely YOU, they have a psychotic break and decide that they must break up your marriage, get you fired and humiliate you in front of your neigbors by becoming a black mailing stalker with your name and phone number because they are SO good they work as a private detective part time and can now track down your home and business address too... just from that... and they do it ... because for the first time ever with all the people they ever deal with YOU are the lucky one they decide to make life miserable for.

..... and aside from the obvious police report you could - and in the end, probably would file since blackmail OR robbery are some pretty criminal actions - what else would you do? I am guessing you would put them on full blast on every public forum you could find to both punish them and warn everyone else willing to listen to you. Sound about right?

End result, a little embarrassment, a lot of explaining and you still get to sleep pretty safely at night knowing this will all blow over soon enough.

Worst case scenario for her:

And this happens ALOT. Guy has so little integrity and so much bad intention that he deliberately tries to be anonymous and lies about who he is (if he gives that info at all). If the provider sees him and he (a) kills her/him (b) robs her/him (c) hospitalizes her/him or (d) becomes an actual stalker... what does anyone have to work with?

The Craigslist killer is a highly publicized example of our worst case scenario and the only reason you hear about it is because the idiot didn't know he was being videotaped in the hotel outside her door. If she works out of a home or office? She has even more reason to want to know who the hell she is talking to before she agrees to see you. Her worst case scenario: being hospitalized or killed.

Men attack women publicly all the time JUST for not paying enough attention to them and other really stupid, scary reasons. Its not like you guys walk around with signs on your foreheads warning us which of you are psychotics or rapists. What we DO know is that folks who don't mean us any harm also don't feel like they have to hide their true identity from us. They have taken the time to get to know us enough to make an educated decision about who they are dealing with and they are comfortable with their choice.

The men who DO intend to hurt us? They don't want LE or anyone else knowing who they are or how to find them and those are the ones NONE of us want to deal with. Want to keep your sex life completely safe and private and NOT have to give tangible reassurance that you are someone we can trust? Get a girlfriend or stay home with your wife.

Almost forgot, where stalkers are involved....

it isn't just the girl at risk here. Anyone who has some kind of mental malfunction that makes him want to stalk and punish/rescue an escort is also the same kind of person who will go after her clients when he sees them approaching or leaving. THIS personality is more of an issue for you than an escort trying to blackmail you, etc.

Note that there IS an entire population out there that thinks "vigilante journalism" with their cell phone cameras is a great hobby. ESPECIALLY when it comes to chasing "hookers and johns" because they are easy to catch and easy to get support for "outing". Attached is a video clip from one of the founders of this stupid movement. here is the important part, watch for the part where the license plate of the vehicle becomes CLEARLY visible and easy to identify in the video frame. While it is against the law to slander someone like this (after all, these are accusations not proven charges) - the damage is still done to an audience of hundreds of thousands on the internet before it can be halted.

THESE personalities are the same ones who will also try and show up at a companion's location under a false name or no name at all. And the end result is that they now know where she is and all they have to do is sit in their damn car and wait to make videos for release later.

We, professionals, have a vested interest in protecting our clients - who ARE our business. And we would like to keep vigilante stalkers like this as far away from us AND our clients as possible. If everyone keeps making it more difficult for girls/boys to screen correctly - all you are doing is making it more likely that you will end up on the wrong side of a camera with some stalker psycho who thinks it is his job to out her and everyone who sees her.

Consider that before you listen to some douchebag tell you that you should never reveal identifying info like your real name to make an appointment with someone.

I have to agree with you on everything you wrote.
