While it might make you feel good that you did something good, but who's to say that the charity you gave the money slated for her, did any more good than she would have done with the money by feeding her family with it?

You might want to rethink exactly where your money does the most good. If it makes you understand my point a little better, substitute the word "maid" for hooker, and now ask yourself "would you feel good about yourself if you told your maid to stay home this week in order to give that money to a charity that supposedly spends it on fighting Aids?"

To answer your last question. Yes, maybe you are naïve. When I give my money to a hooker, or a maid, or whoever I employ to provide a service for me, I know EXACTLY who is getting my money. When I give to a charity I have no idea how much of my money actually makes it to the people purportedly benefitting from my donation.

I think I will donate my money to all these "single mothers" that make me feel so good one hour at a time, you of course are free to do whatever you like with your extra money.

That is very noble and thoughtful TL. There needs to be more people like you to help a person in hand.

Labrador retrievers, like our favorite providers, make you forget your troubles, love to be tenderly stroked and snuggled with, never judge you, are always thrilled to see you, make you feel so damn good and happy, and unlike the ground rules for the hobby, the love is real and genuine.  Lots of wonderful dogs out there who don't have homes because the people they relied upon failed them, not because the dogs did anything to deserve their fate.
