It FKIN screams it. Lol.

What about the Green Party appeals to you and why should anyone take is seriously?

... "3rd party" VP if Bernie got short-shrifted by the Democrats and decided to bolt?

Would Bernie jump to the Green Party? That party is looking for a "name" candidate. They could easily produce a level-headed VP candidate: Dr. Jill Stein.

If someone like her were ever put in charge of ANYTHING, we wouldn't have to worry about China passing us. Vietnam might pass us as a world power. That woman is NUTS

Now your question about Trumps potential running mate is a much more interesting question as not only might it actually happen, but it would be much more than a footnote in the election process where Sanders run might not even rate a trivia question in a couple of years.

Hey, Gambler, thanks for the spirited reply.

I called Jill Stein "levelheaded", not "sane". At least one of her competitors for Green candidate is off-the-wall by comparison.

That's not to say we should adopt Jill's views. They do need discussion. So, over to you my friend. Let's hear your thoughts.

I'm no fan of the Green Party, but we can't dismiss it. Remember Ralph Nader's 2000 run that caused more than a ripple for Al Gore?

I started wondering whether Bernie Sanders – in the event he fails to overtake Hillary – would run independently. If he did abandon the Dems, what party would he jump to? Isn't Green a feasible choice for him?

Here we are with Hillary and Carly, so hypothetically hooking Bernie to a female running mate (Jill Stein) didn't seem like a stretch.

(As for my views on Stein, I should have called her "articulate" instead of "level-headed." Her principal competitor within Green reads like a total whacko. Stein's a smooth M.D. who convincingly bucks big pharma etc. in favor of more healthful lifestyles; if she were heeded, IMHO cancer rates would plummet. Sadly, yes, she's too far left on other issues.

Does this imply the Dems are willing to back a Socialist?

The Dems might be willing to back a Socialist. Asked in front of TV cameras what's the difference between a Democrat and a Socialist, Debbie Wasserman Schultz (DNC chair) could not answer the question.

But shouldn't we envision Bernie as really in the same situation as Donald? "Vote me out and I'll run as an independent."
