What's "Amnesty Internal?" Just curious EOM

Amnesty Internal will vote on whether to recommend to every country on Earth to decriminalize the sale and the purchase of sexual services.  
I don't like being a criminal nor do I like hanging out with criminals. By hobbying I do both.  While all of us realize that labeling us criminals does not mean we are wrong doers, wouldn't it be nice if no one had to prove he/she was not LE? Wouldn't it be nice if the 45,000 women who will be arrested in this country in the next 12 months for selling her services were left in peace?
I understand the dangers of decriminalization, but it would be a wonderful thing if Amnesty International voted for it.

It is very unlikely prostitution will ever be decriminalized in the USA.

No, no need for that. Unintended consequences could be a total disaster.

I think it is fine the way things are now.  

Perfect, no, but I'd rather deal with the devil I know than the devil I dont.

Girls would still have to screen and guys would still have to do research.

Let it be.

If you said congress was voting, or the supreme court was voting that might be serious and important, but what clout does amnesty international have over any government?

The rest are hardly going to be influenced by Amnesty International.

I suppose it's good to at least be having the conversation, but that's all it is "conversation" and hardly a serious or important vote. The OP should get back to us if even one small city in the US has a vote on this, now THAT would be important.

Somehow, though, I think any vote on this will be squelched.  And even if they did, it would have no impact here.  The negative forces are just too powerful...

... and that translates into about 1/3 of the actual voting public in any general election.

With the possible exception of "the Donald", none of the current crop of candidates either DEM or GOP or IND would ever endorse such a change in legislation... now, if we could get Elliot Spitzer in the White House, we might see something;)
