Your last half dozen exchange of insults will never see the light of day here!

Jerry, sorry, but I have moderated you.  Just because someone isn't smart enough to accept the advice of you and others who know what they are talking about, that doesn't mean that you have to insult him.  This is intended to be a friendly and safe place for newbies to post.

As for you Shineym3, I agree with the posts of Jerry and WildTurkey. FYI Shineyme3, the person with which you have been trading insults is a provider with over 60 reviews to her credit, so I think she knows something about which she speaks.  You may not like what she has to say, and it could have been said better, but I think her version is closer to the truth than the lines you have been fed.  From what I have seen, drivers are actually becoming rarer in the hobby.

Shineyme3. If you have the agency contacts, ask them for the job!!!

I've been looking into working as a driver for a while now but have had made little progress in finding reputable people to work with. Where should I be looking? The ads on CL all seem to be complete BS or are done by REALLY sketchy people so no luck there. I have no doubt that I would do very well in the role but how do I go about finding the quality providers/agencies to work with? I would imagine that there's a strong need for the truly professional and reliable. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

What is it about being a driver that attracts you? Usually guys that are specifically looking to get into that come across as being creepy.

The money and the schedule is what attracts me. Plus the one person whom I've spoken with who owns a share in an agency said exactly what you did; most wanna-be drivers are bottom of the barrel dregs who think that they are gonna make a ton of money for doing nothing and get frequent "benefits" from the providers that they drive for.

So, seeing what most providers have to normally choose from I realized that someone who is polite, courteous and extremely professional would be a no-brainer of a choice for them on who they would want to work with.

Ultimately, it seems that what I need to do is catch a break somewhere to prove myself even if this just means talking with someone on the phone or meeting them in person so that they could get an accurate vibe. It should go without saying that I've already put together a copy of my driving record, etc. to show that I'm serious. Oh, and yes, I would also be willing to go through any background check that anyone needed.

Have any bright ideas on who I should talk to or where I should go and present myself? I am all ears. Thanks for you $.02!

Most drivers are people that the provider already knows and usually are doing it as a favor. It sure is not for the money, they get paid very poorly, usually less than a cab driver.
So how are you going to provide a truely professional and reliable service for peanuts?

It's mostly agencies that I have spoken to that see this as a well compensated service. I would be handling the company's money and making sure that the provider didn't do anything that might reflect poorly on them.
