But Matt, here's the difference...

Calling someone a "fascist" is clearly derogatory and no R running for prez would ever accept that vernacular and they would be visibly pissed off and Chuck Todd would most likely get fired (and later moved to MSNBC, lol)

Seriously though, Bernie calls himself a socialist, and proudly so. He doesn't view it as perjorative. He wears it as a badge of honor.

Ok, so let's say Chris Matthews caught her off guard with the "what is the difference between a Democrat and a Socialist?" question.

But how is she not prepared for it when Chuck Todd asks her?

Is it because she doesn't think there is a difference? Ok, then just have the intellectual honesty to say so.

Does she believe there really is a difference? Fine, then state your reasons how they are different.

So why is she evading to answer, and why wasn't she prepared the SECOND time she was asked

...to win so badly that they're lying about Bernie Sanders.  He's a Democratic Socialist, similar to the governments of Scandinavian countries.  Schultz didn't want to antagonize Mathews and Chuck Todd so she avoided the question (or maybe she didn't know).

Looking at the way the media has treated Sanders (first ignoring him, then laughing at him, now fighting him), maybe his election chances will have the same outcome as Gandhi's:

and in my opinion, it was her only option. The DNC is going to support a mainstream Democrat, but what happens if Bernie gets nominated. She can't throw him under the bus.

If Debbie gave Matthews  the textbook definition of Socialism, how do you think that would have been received? The pure definition of Socialism is not something that you want to communicate to even a moderately left audience. Although Democrats believe in numerous social programs, they still believe in the efficiency of the capital markets. Socialism doesn't. Think about who controls the capital, production, resources in socialist system.

Sanders gave one of his first interviews to John Harwood of CNBC. Besides the fact that he wants to expand government programs and spending, he mentioned that Americans have too many choices. He specifically said, "as an example Americans have too many choices when it comes to deodorant and tennis shoes. Harwood didn't pin him down on what he meant, but to me that smacks of his desire to control the economy, not just a macro level, but at a micro level. Markets and consumers determine choices, not the government.

Guess who's warming up in the bullpen, none other than #72 Joe Biden. Even mainstream Democrats don't want Sanders.

She HAS to come up with a better answer the very next day.

Seriously, did she think Todd wasn't going to ask her when she appeared to shit her pants with Matthews? Her peeps/handlers have to assume she will have to field that question again and work that out with her as soon as she gets off that set with CM.

Couldn't she have mustered up something like "well Dems and Socialists just draw the line at different places where to help the middle class and underprivileged, some want a little more goverment intervention and some a little less, but in either case Chuck, I can guarantee you, whoever our candidate will be, he or she will take care of those people and we all know the Republicans will take care of Big Business and millionaires."

Damn...that was good! Lol

Think the DNC will hire me? :D

I can tell you one thing. Her non answer and her squirming in her seat is just bad optics, and it will end up in Republican ad.

The truly amazing thing is that Matthews asked the question in the first place.

The next amazing thing (as you pointed out) is why she hadn't prepared for the the question when asked again. Given her Matthew's exchange it is understandable that Todd asked again.

The reason she wasn't honest (regardless her opinion and she of course has one) is because she didn't want to disaffect either those that agree with her or those that disagree because she expects/hopes both groups to vote Democrat.

She could have easily had a suitable answer since one is a political party and one is an economic philosophy and given some version of the old "big tent" response

between a Republican and a Fascist! But then, we both know that's never going to happen!  ;)

They are supposed to get in to talking points or make statements.   If you don't know this one simple rule, you are not in to American politics.

Now get back here if you see any of your clowns answer a question directly at the debate on Thursday.    I tell you right now, none of they will.

Politicians don't answer questions. They are supposed to get in to talking points or make statements.
So since you wouldn't address the question I posed earlier in response to your post below regarding the government forced increase in the cost of coal generated electric power, and instead went to unrelated talking points on the history CO2 production, could this mean you're really a politician?

The article I sent you to read, I did say "let us start with".   So, I am not yet done sending you all the materials you need to read.

didn't even attempt to answer the question of what the temperature effects will be after we take these recent steps the EPA is imposing?

She's a nut and is really irrelevant in the Democratic party. She doesn't dictate policy, just follows and preaches it and carries a "title"....she gets way too much credit. Almost like Reince Priebus.

She is most energetic and intelligent Chairman of DNC, the party had for few decades.    She will run for the same office she holds, US Representative from Florida in US Congress.

Yes she's energetic and I know all about her. I just don't see the substance. But I guess for now she's the best that they have but I just don't pay too much attention to what she says...
Maybe I'm missing something here.

She won Florida for the President in 2012!    Beat the crap out of your Mitt Romney.   Then dumped that Black Redneck Alan West in the gutter.    Give her credit.    She is ready to take on the next Nazi who gets the Redneck nomination.

She has built rock solid Democratic voter block of Asians, AA and Hispanics in Florida.  The very demographic anyone needs to win Florida.    She will dump more Republican rednecks in 2016 in the House races and the Senate seat held by the Cuban will go Democrat as well.

Thank you Donald, you made it easy for Debbie in 2016
