sex as an exercise

I read reports that said that sex can cause a person to gain weight. Then I read another article that said that sex is a good exercise. It makes me ponder what is your opinion on this because there are two conflicting reports on this account.

Joe - can you link to the reference article on sex making you gain weight?  I've never heard of that.  In fact I've only ever heard of benefits from having sex.  In the context of adult, consensual, "safe" sex I'm not aware of any detrimental condition that could develop (other than emotional attachment which some could consider a downside.)  LOL

Sex has many benefits - cardiovascular strengthening, immune system improvement, and psychological stabilization among them.  Not to mention stress relief.  :-)  People that get laid regularly live longer, healthier lives, and are generally more confident and well adjusted.

Sex releases wonderful things into your bloodstream like endorphines and oxytocin.  Do some reading on oxytocin - it is amazing stuff.  Some studies I've read indicate that it can stop the aging process for a while.  No wonder folks that are having great sex regularly have a certain glow about them.

Is sex exercise?  Yes.  Does it burn calories?  Yes.  But how good of a workout it is depends.  It certainly isn't an excuse to stop hitting the gym.  Which sucks because I love sex and hate working out.  LOL

PS:  I am not a doctor nor do I play one on TV.  :-)  So feel free to do your own research on everything I just said.

Married Folks Gain weight or long term relationship ppl tend to, but it can be avoided.

According to the link below, Men burn about 100 calories in a session (about 4 cal per min), but married life means that you might 'work out' less.

Hence, Hobby more often!

Of course someone will say 4 calories a minute? Heck, I have 300 minute sessions means I can have that Steak after all! * Liar, pants on fire

Thanks for the link Joe.  It's funny that an article can excerpt something largely out of context just to catch your attention.  The source article's researcher couldn't be contacted for comment.  However the bulk of the article was a Scottish researcher debunking the claim that sex makes you fat.  LOL.  So I wouldn't lose any sleep (or sex) over it just yet.

here is a link about it.

I don't think you'll ever burn that many calories during sex, but I sure burn a lot keeping in shape so sex is more fun!  I set personal fitness goals to achieve prior to allowing an appointment.  Number of miles run, consecutive days at the gym, I mix it up and remain incentivized.  If I didn't know I'd be naked in front of a hot girl, I'd be fat.
