As for the case itself, I think I need a bit more information to really have a strong opinion either way. It does look like the cop pulled out his weapon awfully quickly, driving without a license is hardly a capital offense and there was ZERO evidence that I saw that the victim was armed. Fleeing is a crime, but not one punishable by death. Murder? I am not so sure, but manslaughter should be a slam dunk here and this cop is almost certainly going to spend time.Life is cheap in this country and especially for cops. At this rate, other countries will have to issue travel advisory to its citizens who are planning to visit this country. Especially if they plan to visit those redneck states where everyone walks with a gun hanging from their belt.

There are large areas of Baltimore, NYC and Detroit begging cops to patrol regularly again.
I didn't watch the video, mainly because I don't care enough to waste my time. If you say he killed the guy in cold blood he should be charged and if others covered it up they should to. It doesn't really matter.
What I find ironic is someone HAS to do the job. I highly doubt you would, I wouldn't simply because I would find it very hard to have compassion for people.
I never once said there weren't bad cops or they shouldn't be held to a higher standard. I basically said I refuse to believe all 2 million are corrupt as you seem to believe. Or even 10% of them. But in ANY profession you will have corruption so to believe cops can't, shouldn't or won't is plain stupid. It's not a racial thing. Every race suffers from it, every sex, every nationality, every religion.
More whites have been killed by police in the last 2 years than any other race so take the racial arguement out of it. I would argue that many of the people who die at the hands of police deserve it, or are partially responsible for it. You take 10 or 20 cases a year that get publicized and try to say it's an epidemic. Get real more people die from prescription drug abuse every hr I d bet. Is it a problem? Yes. Do you think it ll change if cops are being charged with crimes? I bet it does.

Out of the 715, 49 passed both the written and physical tests. Of those 49, only 11 passed the initial interview. 10 of the 11 passed the secondary interview but 4 of the 10 were disqualified or withdrew from the background check, 2 were hired and 4 are still undergoing background checks.
What happened to the 700 unqualified applicants? They were hired as cops by Ferguson Missouri, Baltimore, New York and by every city in Texas

This is what the COPS should be doing. Walking the streets in their communities, no car, no guns, no body camera. I have been to London umpteen number of times and constables walk the streets, no guns but only a baton and a radio. It is one of the biggest and busiest cities in the world with a diversity of population unmatched by any other city.
The gun culture has made America what it is today. No one trusts any other person, everyone is suspicious of the other person, and at the drop of a hat, just pull your gun and shoot. Ask questions later.
But I think the prosecutor has a very high bar to clear with the murder charge. Not saying it will be insurmountable, but I think it is unlikely, maybe even highly so.

I can deal with legitimate and reasoned criticism of the police. They are human. They will make mistakes, they will commit crimes. The should be punished.
It would be nice if the media didn't try and poison this well as I believe they are complicit in cherry picking these cases which in turn gets the uneducated masses into a froth, which leads to even more contempt for the police.
But I know the media doing the right thing vs. the profitable thing, is a lost cause
