There are some great museums! The de Young, the Exploratorium, SFMOMA, etc... The Park Chalet in Golden Gate Park (right across the Great Hghway from Ocean Beach) is a fun spot for Sunday brunch. :)

Is it just me,  or is this city just absolutely AMAZING???   I can totally see myself living here!  Yesterday,  the rain didn't put a damper on my day!   I ventured into Chinatown & sampled some of the culture,  I had a little miscommunication w/ the butcher so my fish wasn't cut to my preference.   So I had to finish severing the fish's head & deboning it myself.   Ewwwe!!!   Grose!!!!!  When in Rome.... I've visited a few restaurants around the Nob Hill & Marina areas & have really been enjoying San Fran, but if anyone has any suggestions on what I shouldn't miss in this beautiful city please let me know.

You've got to stop by and visit me, that's my neck of the woods!

And if you're going to cross the Golden Gate to go to Napa, try to make a side trip to Muir Woods for giant redwoods, then Stinson Beach & up to Point Reyes National Seashore for whale-watching.   Also, if you go down to Fisherman's Wharf, there are a couple of boats which will take you out fishing for a half or full day.  And of course the boat trip out to Alcatraz, or the boat to Angel Island or over to Sausalito.  And as to Museums, the California Academy of Science Museum in Golden Gate Park has an Aquarium, Planetarium and Natural History Museum all under one roof.  Just a couple of ideas.

if you can travel outside of sf, napa for wine and tomales bay for fresh farmed oysters
