For the record, almost ALL my appointments are booked same day or the day before at the earliest. It cuts down cancellations on my part as my schedule can change rather quickly, and since I try to see at least 3-5 ladies a week, it really doesn't cause any problems in overlap.
The way I do it with a lady that I never seen before if she is at the top of my "to do" list is to simply call/write and first off ask if she is ok with "short notice" appointments, wait an appropriate period of time, usually about 15 minutes when trying to fill a window in such a short period of time, and then go down my list doing the exact same thing.
If and when, multiple ladies get back to me, I deal with it depending on how far into the process I am. If I have already booked with another lady, I simply reply that "today will no longer work, but are you available over the next couple of days?" and attempt to see her on another day. If I have received a non committal response from another lady, but have not yet booked, then I make a judgment call depending on which one I REALLY want to see that day. I don't consider it "time wasting" as the lady only has taken a moment out of her day to respond, and most likely if I like her today, I will still like her tomorrow, and I can get any prescreening out of the way.
But to say "first responder wins" seems a little offputting to me, and you are likely to have many of your requests end up in the trash bin.
I have a question. If a guy was looking for a lady on short notice, say you needed an answer in about six hours. Would it be impolite to contact three or so ladies and say the first response gets me. Being 100% upfront about the situation.
Seems a bit arrogant to say "first responder wins." If you know the lady well, then a short notice request is OK, but otherwise you are better working with Reece, Sunny, or one of the other wonderful ladies. I've been there in the past and they have responded well, plus I've made some great new friends

It's ok to contact three ladies, but I wouldn't go with first response wins, as that might put them off.
I can't give you any advice on short notice appointments as they almost never work for me, but I will take the advice of gambler as you should to.
