I have been taking my SB to the best places and great hotels and restaurants. It's been a blast and I enjoyed every minute of it. She even says that I give her more than she expects sexually and otherwise. She wants me to feel she is doing the same for me. All very good.
But I am burning through my cash faster than I like. How do I go slightly lower on the expenses (not the allowance) without rocking a smooth sailing boat?

Just tell her. You need to cut back and watch her reaction. If she really enjoys your company you will find out.
Will try that in a couple of weeks. She has never asked for what I give her or demanded anything.
So you can concentrate on each other. Get a nice bottle of wine, a medium price motel room, and see if she enjoys it.

I informed her that I was to cut her allowance from 500 to 350, but ramp up the frequency to 3 times vs twice so in effect keeping the amount the say. Also, I had said due to time restrictions, there was going to be less dating/outings and more house visits, to which she immediately said OK!!!
Then magically after a few days of sitting on top of the new proposal, a day before the scheduled meet she informed me that she found someone on SA and they had such strong chemistry that they both made promises to each other to cease all other SD/SB activities and capacities. How cute is that?!
Thereafter, she's been on SA 24/7. Needless to say that my main SA ID had been blocked, but I have several others for "research" purpose 
If you get too cheap they can leave. My regular SB's bills run 500 plus some extra costs per week. Always on call and ready to do anything.
Keep in mind that the primary reason they see you is cash. The nice hotels and fancy dinners are nice but she's not taking any of that ambiance to the bank.
So as already suggested, just tell her you want to focus your time on her, and book cheaper hotels, and "grab a quick bite" (at Denny's or deliver to the room) rather than taking 3 hours for $60 steaks and a $120 bottle of Paradoxx at Morton's. As long as she's not losing net sugar, she's going to stay happy.
In fact, I've had more than one SB gently steer me away from these non-BCD components over a short or longer time period. They have actually told me things like "I don't have much time today, can we skip dinner and just have dessert?". Of course, I always say yes, and grab a BigMac before she shows up. Sadly for them, I generally end up pushing those SB's lower in my rotation and eventually dropping them, as I value the companionship and pseudo-GFE time as much as the sex.
That's why I'm doing sugar life. There are plenty of pros within 20 miles of me that will do the specific services I like for $300-500, not to mention several A-list porn stars nearby that can rock my world for $600-1500, all one hour at a time. These providers are awesome! But they are not GF's and they aren't looking for companion time from me.

Interestingly things improved for the better last night. She now feels comfortable enough to rent a place on her own and wants to spend more time together. This means no hotel expenses. 
I may have an unicorn after all or this may turn messy with her wanting a romantic LTR. I am not going to think about it and enjoy it while it lasts.
71 with a 44 yr SB she loves me, cooks for me, travels with me. She might dump me tomorrow but going along for the ride till it ends. Unlimited sex.
