In some cities, there are independents that have a separate apartment or sometimes the apartment they live in to entertain. Seems to be in NYC, there aren't. Maybe I haven't looked, but other than a few $1,000 an hour ladies, there are very few independents with non-hotel incalls. There seems to be a much larger agency and/or ethnic (Russian, Korean, etc.) ladies.

True or just not looking at it the right way?

am not sure exactly where or how you need to search I think some of the other gentlemen on here could help more but out of the few local ladies we have that live in NYC two of them do have apartments they host from. One on Upper East Side and one in Midtown West.

Good Luc

To rent here you need:
* excellent credit scores
* make, at least, 40 times the rent (some are asking for 50 times, with tax returns showing the income). If not, a solid guarantor (making 80 times the rent)
* pay, up front, 1st + last months of rent and 2 months of deposit
* pay realtors fees

So, many girls cannot show proof of income or have perfect credit scores. Or cannot find a guarantor.
Is very hard to rent here in Manhattan (or any other boroughs).
Of course money talks, if a girl can fork a year worth the rent in cash and offer in lieu of proof of income. Some landlords will accept that, but is not easy to find one.

Exactly. It's difficult to get an apartment in NYC in general, aside from being expensive. Fortunately I was able to get one that I use primarily to entertain. I don't live there. But it's nothing fancy either just a cozy small 1 bedroom. Which is enough for what I need it for(I use it for my "normal" job) but it's not my home. I have heard nightmare stories when it coming to NYC real estate.

I didn't realize that life is so hard. For NYC, it seems it is difficult to find a place in addition to high rent. There may be a safety fear in a brownstone but a building with a doorman presents other problems. That also explains why there are more agencies compared to independents in NYC compared to other cities, like Los Angeles. That might also explain why FBSM is not common because it cannot be offered at much lower a price and still pay for rent and expenses. My, it is complicated!

I am NYC based and, in my personal case, I have lots of regular clients. I only advertise in one or two venues - and not very often - because I can get enough requests from my regulars in one day to keep me busy.
I believe the same happens with other local girls - they have enough repeat business and have no need to post ads.
Maybe that's the reason you think there's not a big number the independents in our city.
People with little business need to advertise a lot, get exposure anywhere they can. NYC girls with a steady stablished client base can keep themselves out of the limelight :)

No Naomi it's 40 times. I had both my parents and grandparents try to cosign with me and my sister when we were going to move to NY together and they still turned us down. Granted it was a luxury building which only rented a few rooms. When we looked to buy the prices weren't worth the square footage so we all stayed in Jersey. We rented a middle of the road apartment in NNJ which is a little better but still not great. I think it was 15 times when we moved here.

They want to make sure you have the money before they even think about letting you in. It's not easy to evict anyone anymore.

Cus 40 times sounds ridiculous. And not accurate.

WOW that is a lot I didn't know it was that hard to rent in NYC either. Is renting privately/short term as hard too, I wonder? I wanted to visit NYC for like 3 months toward end of Summer but Jeez wasn't planning on having to give blood and my first born lol

The formula is 40 times one month's rent in annual income,  so if you earn $120,000.00 per year you would be accepted in an apartment that rents for $3,000.00 per month or less.
