Large crowds and bright lights were never really my scene. So a low key pup is probably what I need.

Thanks for your response

I've been to NY before with family and friends. So, just about every stop was on their time. Could anyone point me in the right direction were a young lady that loves to eat and site see get the most out of NYC?

Not the cliche on times square etc, etc. I know of the basic tourist attractions.

Thanks!

Still some remnants of old New York, but with a young vibe, worth wandering around.  You can catch a very New York quick meal at Katz's Deli, the last real deli left in New York, or Russ and Daughters Cafe, or try Wildair, a new and very well reviewed place, of for edgy try Pig and Khao, or Ivan Ramen.  Follow that with one of the many bars, both high end and low, that dot the area.

You've provided me with many options. Much appreciated ;-*

And I love the upper westside. I like to sit in the park on a bench and listen to the doors or donavan and gaze just above the crowds of people doing there thing. Social without actual interaction 😉

I would seriously check out Jackson Heights (7 train to 74th Street - Jackson Heights in Queens) and/or Flushing (7 train to Main Street - Flushing). Some of the greatest Asian diasporic foods in NYC: Thai, Tibetan, Malaysian, Burmese, Taiwanese, Sri Lankan, Indonesian, South Indian, Filipino, many regional Chinese cuisines like Sichuan, Fujian, Yunnan etc. Not to mention amazing Latin diasporic cuisines as well. It's missing British Caribbean, but you can go to Richmond Hill for that.

Your taste buds will do back flips & thank you.

Former Colombian Judge who came to Roosevelt Avenue and founded the Arepa cart of the gods.  Her children opened up a full restaurant a few blocks away from her cart which serves her recipes in more comfortable surroundings, but she is still out there with her cart as well.

Nothing special, just an Irish pub near her hotel.  In my experience, the best kind of place of place to go in the city...find a place that looks interesting, and go in and see...
