Both you and AF have failed American war history. . . .

It wasn't that long ago that AF made similar statements regarding the war history of the United States. Read up on the Civil War and WWII.

Thank you all. Many died in Vietnam for our freedoms. I did not like Jane Fonda then and I don't like her now. She can lead her present life the way she wants and perhaps SHE can forget the past, but we DO NOT have to stand by without comment and see her "honored" as one of the "100 Great Woman of the Century."

Why?  Read the below.

** The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat. In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison, the "Hanoi Hilton."

Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American "peace activist" the "lenient and humane treatment" he'd received.

He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was dragged away. During the subsequent beating, he fell forward onto the camp commandant's feet, which sent that officer berserk.

** Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the "Hanoi Hilton". . . The first three of which his family only knew he was "missing in action." His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and clothed routine in preparation for a "peace delegation" visit.

They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security Number on it, in the palm of his hand. When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: "Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?" and "Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?" Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper.

She took them all without missing a beat. . . At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed him all the little pieces of paper...
Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day.

Two first-hand experiences do not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of "100 Years of Great Women." Lest we forget. . "100 Years of Great Women" should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots

In 35 to 40 years Kim Kardashian will be honored with some sort of "pioneering woman" award.

Right or wrong at least Fonda has cognitive critical thought processes and lived with the fallout of her convictions.

At least she will be as long as anyone from my (our) generation is still alive to remember what she did. Some things don't ever get forgiven, every Vietnam vet I ever knew, and I've known a LOT of them having served just after the Vietnam war, everyone of them hoped to live long enough to spit on her grave, and forty years hasn't changed a thing for them, or for me.

And what I find equally amusing is that your cut and paste article about Jane Fonda is word for word the piece quoted in Snopes.

Don't you vet your stuff before you post or do you just don't give a shit if it's true or not.

....Rush, Fox, et al, tell them with a spoon.  That's why you can't have a reasonable dialog with righties.  They swallow what the right-wing media tells them like a fy dolla ho swallows cum, and they cannot be persuaded by the truth.

I was waiting for other righty lemmings to run off the cliff with nuguy before bursting their bubble.  I especially was looking forward to followme hopping on board the crazy train.  Wait, what am I saying?  followme is the Casey Jones of the crazy train; he's been driving it for years.

BTW, Barbara Walters never said those things about Jane Fonda either.

But sometimes they turn out to be true. You just don't know. Only the participants know for sure.

But still is fun to call the suspect names.

In a lot of places in the world you are guilty until proven innocent.

What saddens me is that the veracity of many accusations can be easily checked on if the poster is willing to make the effort but often isn't. That goes directly to integrity and character.

I often immediate fact check anything coming from the right and find it often enough wrong that I'm at a point (stretching several decades) of defaulting to (not true) until verified.

Hanoi Jane. to play Nancy Reagan? No way. Jane Fonda should be hung for being a trader
What the poster is against capitalism?

Like all the wars this country waged not one was in response to an attack on this country.    The wars were either ideological or for war profiteering like Iraq.

Jane Fonda was anti war crusader and needs to be honored.

from California who camped outside Dubiya's ranch and wanted to meet him and ask him about why her son had to die in Iraq.   The war monger, liar and war profiteer did not even have the courtesy or decency to come out of his hiding and meet her.    On the other hand, he had his local police charge her with trespass and had her moved out.

I hope that woman is blessed with peace at her eternal loss and the war monger go and rot in hell.
