Hello, this is my first post. New to the hobby and in fact haven’t actually hobbied yet. I’m just trying to get a feel for how this works and trying not to make any mistakes. Please forgive me if this is redundant. I have been lost in the discussion boards many times and still have questions.
Screening? Should I sign up for date check? Although I am not completely sure I understand what this is.
First call, Can I get an example of what to say or how the conversation might go? I have found a few of what not to say.
Also I am 44 yo, 6’ and a little heavy at 295#. If I am polite will I get a good experience? Or do the providers like clients that are better fit?

The few providers that I've seen knew that I was fat and hairy in advance. I told them in a casual way, and they could have gotten out of it in advance, if they had wanted. Two even told me that their husbands were fat.
Other posters will tell you to stick with a well reviewed indy. They've been with all sorts of guys. If you're polite and generous, you'll have fun.

This is my first post too!. I worked for an agency until couple of week ago. I am going independent now and I have also a lot of questions.
I have no idea what date check is, but mainly they ask you for 2 phone numbers (work number).
About the first call just relax and be yourself. Don't mention money or ask private life questions (example: about real name or stuff that doesn't really matter).
The most important thing!! as long as you are polite don't stress out about your look.

Date Check or similiar services are helpful. It allows the provider to verify your information and will help you arrange a date until you have seen providers and are able to ask them for a .
Just be kind, polite and respectful and the provider and you will enjoy your time together. Personality always supercedes looks with me!
I don't know about date check, but be polite, clean, timely and don't ask about specifics like money or services - you should have already gotten that info from the provider's site and reviews here on TER.
Otherwise, be casual and you'll be ok.
