President Obama, Comander-In Chief, gave a speach recently to the newly Commissioned Officers at the Coast Guard Accadamy. This is what he said:

"When you're on deck, standing your watch, you stay vigilant, you plan for every contingency. If you see storm clouds gathering or dangerous shoals ahead you don't just sit back and do nothing. You take action to protect your ship, to keep your crew safe. Anything less is negligence. It is a dereliction of duty. So to with climate change. Denying it or refusing to deal with it endangers our national security".

Did the Comander-In Chief, in this speach to a class of new Officers, link the denial of climate change to dereliction of duty?

BIG PROBLEM - Dereliction of Duty is covered under article 92 of the Universial Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). It is a Court Martial offence and can be punished by Death (when at War), Dis-Honorable or Bad Conduct Discharges, Confinement (Prison), reduction in rank, forfiture of pay, etc. as a Court Martial may decree.

Did He mean what he said and a denial of climate change by a service member, really is punishable under the UCMJ
