Perhaps you've noticed that the National Board is approaching about 50% political threads.  I, along with some others, have pleaded for some restraint, but have usually been met by insults, sarcasm or simply a confrontational attitude.  

As a result, after five years of enjoying TER, I personally no longer feel welcome participating here, and in fact, have been told by most of the political poster that I should just leave if I don't like it.  I don't think that's their call.  I don't see why I should leave because a dozen vocal and highly argumentative posters want to hijack the board.  Many of my TER friends from the past feel the same way, but unfortunately, have already voted with their feet and quietly left.  

Since apparently there are as many people who now view TER as a place to to debate their political opinions as come to talk about the hobby is it possible to open a new board for political discussion so that the rest of us may discuss the hobby without being attacked or insulted?
