...Cash Rules Everything Around Me.

As usual, Republicans are selling their votes to the highest bidder, in this case the payday lending industry.  They wrap themselves in the flag and say "Thank you for your service" but turn around and fuck the soldiers they claim to love.

The GOP has announced its theme for the 2016 Republican Convention:

“Predatory lenders” LOL – they can’t get you unless you walk in the shop, Matt. And that interest rate is posted on the wall, as well as on every document you sign in bold type.

There is a reason why payday loan shops get so much business – no one else is willing to make these loans, or at least to make them so quickly. You go in with your car title, or your proof of enlistment, and you walk out with cash.

Of course the lender charges extra for this service and the risk he takes. But payday lenders are already heavily regulated by each state as well as by usury statutes and the Truth in Lending Act. And loans to  the military are specifically regulated by the Military Lending Act.

Why do servicemen – who operate jets, drive tanks, and make complex judgments in the field – need more protection than the uneducated 18 year old who swaps his car title for cash? More regulation is to what we need.

Neither a borrower nor a lender be – but if you are a borrower and are too stupid to read the terms of the loan, don’t count on the law to save you.

The Repubs have got this one right

The bankers and payday loan shops, or the average Joe frequenting them? When both sides interests are equally represented in state, local and federal government, then I'll buy your argument that there is fairness in regulating the industry.  ;)
