One hot day in the middle of summer a fly is resting on a leaf beside a lake.  The fly is hot & dry, & says to no one in particular, "Gosh, if I move down 3 inches I'll be able to feel the mist from the water & be refreshed."

There is a fish in the water thinking, "Gosh, if that fly moves down 3 inches I'll be able to jump & eat him."

A bear watching from the shore is thinking, "Gosh, if that fly moves down 3 inches the fish will jump for the fly & I'll be able to snag the fish & eat him."

The is also a hunter a little further up the shore preparing to eat a cheese sandwich.  He is thinking, "Gosh, if that fly moves down 3 inches the fish will jump for it, & the bear will expose himself going for the fish, then I can shoot him & afterwards sit down to enjoy my lunch."

There's also a small mouse nearby thinking, "Gosh, if that fly moves down 3 inches, the fish will go for the fly, the bear will go for the fish, the hunter preparing to shoot the bear will drop his cheese sandwich & I'll be able to eat the cheese."

A cat lurking in the bushes surveys this entire scene & thinks, "Gosh, if that fly moves down 3 inches, the fish will go for him, the bear will go for the fish, the hunter will drop his sandwich to shoot the bear, the mouse will dart out of his hole to grab the cheese & then I'll have a nice fat mouse for lunch."

The poor fly finally can't stand the heat any longer & he moves down 3 inches to cool off.  The fish jumps & swallows the fly, the bear grabs the fish, the hunter drops his sandwich & shoots the bear, the mouse darts for the cheese, the cat jumps for the mouse...but the mouse ducks & the cat falls into the water & drowns.

The moral of this story?  Whenever a fly goes down 3 inches a pussy is in trouble.
